Assassin's Creed Valhalla Title Update 1.1.2 inbound! Available February 16.
Patch size: Xbox Series X|S: ~19.53 GB PlayStation®5: ~11.18 GB Is the PS5 file size nearly half the size of Series X/S due to better compression?
I've always noticed that patches on Xbox always seem to be bigger than PlayStation for some reason. I would go and update something like PUBG on both and I'd have to download 20GB on Xbox but 2GB on PlayStation. Never made any sense.
Not sure it’s as clear cut as that. They could have touched more files on the Xbox and PC versions for example. Could also be something internal related to their engine/tools. Patches are also normally delivered as diffs so it could be that Sony and MS handle the detection differently (e.g. byte level vs chunk/file level). Another interesting thing is that XB1 is actually bigger than PS4 & 5 so I don’t think this is down to Kraken / better compression. Really need more info from Ubi to make a call though - but does a couple of GBs patch size really matter?
Sony licensed Kraken for PS4 and PS5 games. So, no, XB1 being bigger has no bearing here. And Kraken runs off both Jaguar CPUs. We really don't need more info. Just more attempts to downplay what has already been proven in other games.
Ps5 uses a different compression and usually is about the same size or smaller than Xbox
I read something about the faster SSD allowing better compression, not sure on the technical details. Huge difference on the file size for Control wasn't there?
New Skill: Automatically carry a body after a successful assassination. So useless.... the only time I carried bodies in this game was by accident
Yeah, like trying to get on my horse. Worse yet was trying to put someone on the bloody horse.
Whatever you do, don't take the "boobytrap body" skill.
Does it remove the XP boosters? Yeah, I'm not letting it go.
I've got 110 hours and I didn't even know XP boosters was a thing in this game. Thought they had removed them after Odyssey.
They put them in well after the release.
there was no update for me
