PP: Relaxing skateboarding game Skate City will be broadsiding its way to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. Apparently, Skate City will be hitting these platforms soon, even though a date still has not yet been confirmed.
WTMG's Leo Faria: "Skate City isn’t terrible, but I can’t help but feel that I could just spend my time playing a lot of much better skateboarding games out there instead of this one, be them indies or AAAs. It has good ideas, but its execution feels undercooked due to its unnecessarily confusing control scheme and pitiful amount of content. If you can’t wait for a new OlliOlli, or if Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater is just too mainstream for you, then sure, Skate City can be quite fun in very small bursts. Just keep your expectations in check before you start playing it."

Listen, I love skating games, from Tony Hawk to Skate. I even really liked Session. But this new era of skating games that are more simulation, with no real content to justify their pricetag ($40 for Skater XL? Really?), I'm getting kind of tired with.
At this point it's very hard to tell Skater XL, Session and this game apart. I like Session and Skater XL, but they are not worth their normal price. I know there's the excuse about "Well it's not about goals or points. It's about chilling out and skateboarding." This would be reasonable if they didn't cost so much. I can get down with a game where the only purpose is to chill out and relax, but I honestly think this is just an excuse for the developers to not do more work.
