In Survival Mode, the player must maintain health, explore caves, gather resources, and craft tools on an unknown island.
The Wii U's first Minecraft clone, Cube Life: Island Survival, is currently in development for the Nintendo Switch, PC and PS4, developer Cypronia has today announced.
It is as much of a Mineceaft clone as Minecraft is a clone of Infiniminer... it's annoying how people can't accept that Minevraft's popularity has opened the way to a bunch of games in the same style and genre. Similar to how everyone used to call any sandbox game that wasn't GTA a "GTA clone" back in the day.
Deal with it.
I have had Cube Life since its release last year, never played it. The reason I bought it was, the video preview said "this is for you Nintendo fans!"So I bought it just to support them!
Indie game developers, Cypronia have announced that the first update to their hit Wii U Nintendo eShop game, Cube Life: Island Survival, is going to be released today. To celebrate the Update v1.1, Cypronia are also giving away 100 Cube Life download codes for Europe.
"Minecraft is coming out this week for Wii U, finally. It’s been a long time coming for fans of the block building sandbox phenomenon, certainly to those who like to play strictly on Nintendo machines. But we can’t forget about the little guys either, especially the ones who have tried to emulate the Minecraft experience to Wii U before Microsoft and Mojang decided to bring their juggernaut over. Cube Life: Island Survival is one of the little guys, but it’s growing in a big way."
I feel kind of bad for the Cube Life guys. It's a pretty solid effort to recreate a Minecraft-like experience on the Wii U, but with its own twists (survival is more important on this game than in Minecraft).
Now that Minecraft is releasing on Wii U tomorrow, this game's going to be utterly destroyed.
:(
Looks kind of familiar...can't quite put my finger on where I've seen it...ARGH! This is going to bother me..
