I think that's a very high probability. They need to connect The Hidden Ones to the Assasins and the Order of Ancients to the Templars.
So at some point, it has to focus on 10th and 11th century events. My guess is the golden age of the Byzantine Empire, which would create a nice book end to the sort of back tracking they've done with Origins, Odyssey, and now Valhalla. It then concludes with the start of the crusades and AC 1.
From a story and dev perspective, that makes the most sense to me. From a player's perspective, it's not as exciting as some other more over-the-top locales/time periods.
How about something closer to modern times like Nazi Germany? All the guys you normally have to track down and kill could be Hitler's henchmen and Hitler himself as the final boss.
Was it Syndicate that had those WWII side missions? They were ok.
Problem with anything too modern in the games is that modern guns are hard to work around. Love the idea though. I believe they did a short comic set in the WWII era.
They need to conclude the hidden one and order of the ancients saga. But please no more gender choosing. Just stick with one male or female protagonist.

If it has XP boosters, then it doesn't matter. But I would like to see 1860s Russia during the Nihilist movement.
