Wow that’s an awesome month!

bouzebbal1184d ago

Can I get PS5 games without owning the system?

boing11184d ago

I think you can claim them via web store or playstation app.

LG_Fox_Brazil1184d ago

Yes, just log in the PSPlus website and put them in your library

bouzebbal1184d ago

Thanks guys, I just tried and it worked..
All Stars looks dope!!

StoneyYoshi1184d ago

Good to know this isn't locked down like the PS+ collection Which requires the console to access them.

Neonridr1184d ago

yeah you can just collect them ahead of time while they are free and then when you get the system down the road you can install them. Don't forget to do that with Maneater this month (if you haven't already).

Kurt Russell1184d ago

I am glad you asked this and people responded. I had no idea either, I have just added Man Eater and will do so with these when they go live. I have a feeling it will be a while until I can get my grubby hands on a PS5 to play them.

Sitdown1183d ago

Question, if I "purchase" a game with ps+, and for some reason it leaves the store, would I still be able to download it? I'm more concerned about the ps collection, but I need to go purchase a larger hdd for my ps4 games.

Incredible month! So glad I waited on buying Control (especially with the PS5 version locked behind Ultimate Edition). Going to be awesome to play that on PS5. Concrete Genie looks great and hopefully this will make Destruction All-Stars take off (if it's good enough to warrant that). Great month Sony

VenomUK1184d ago

@Storm23. Control was in the sale and I was going to get it but held off, I'm so glad I did! I wanted Concrete Genie and maybe Destruction Allstars will be fun. Great month.

Abnor_Mal1184d ago

Its an incredible month indeed. I was seriously on the fence about if Control was a game I would like, so held off on buying it, even when on sale. As for Conceete Genie, although bright vibrant the gameplay really didn't grab me. I will now get a chance to play it, and should be playable in vr with the PSVR I hope. Destruction All-Stars is now sitting nicely in my PS5 library waiting the day I do get a PS5 to play it.

CobraKai1184d ago

Me too. It was in my Best Buy cart. I almost pulled the trigger yesterday.

TallDarknWavy1184d ago

I bought control just over 2 months ago, waited to play it, still haven't opened it but because I downloaded it as usual when buying something I can't get a refund.

northpaws1184d ago

Bought Control UE two weeks ago -_-

Great month! I'm actually signing up for Plus next month despite not having a PS5 yet.

darthv721184d ago

I just signed back up thanks to that thread I saw the other day. Got two years for $60.

neutralgamer19921184d ago

This is a great month, lately sony has been offering great games

Majin-vegeta1184d ago

Crap just bought Control in the holiday sale😑

potatoseal1184d ago

Maybe you can get your money back... "maybe". Because last month Sony refunded people who bought, I think it was ManEater in a sale just before the Plus games were announced. But I wouldn't count on it this time.

GottaBjimmyb1184d ago (Edited 1184d ago )

I bought Control on sale also, but honestly, I'm not too worried about it, happens once in a while, but even without Control, this month still kicks butt, all 3 games have unique appeal too. The best part about PS plus is they really aim to pick games you want to play, not always 10/10 games, but games you know you will try, especially since they are included with PS+.

LucasRuinedChildhood1184d ago

Bought it on sale not too long ago as well (cheap PS5 game) - I'm fairly gutted. haha.

If you bought it within the last 14 days and haven't downloaded it yet then you can request a refund

Ashunderfire861184d ago

Hopefully, Sony will refund you if you bought this game on the Playstation store. If you did I would look for the Sony message.

potatoseal1184d ago

Wooohoooo. This is a really REALLY good month for me. I missed Control and Concrete Genie and we get Destruction All-Stars for PS5. Can't wait to start playing.

LucasRuinedChildhood1184d ago

It's the Ultimate Edition of Control as well so that's 2 PS5 games this month

CaptainObvious8781184d ago

I'm especially happy about it being the Ultimate Edition. Very generous of sony.

I love getting trophies, so for me it's basically 2 games in one. I plat the ps4 version, then come back in a years time and play the ps5 version.

KeenBean3451184d ago

Concrete Genie is really charming and fun, fantastic PS plus game. Hope you enjoy!

SullysCigar1184d ago (Edited 1184d ago )

Been looking forward to a fun multiplayer since I lost interest in Fall Guys - I hope this turns out great, but I haven't seen much of it, which is odd at this stage. Could this be the next Rocket League to feed my addiction?!

Pumped about Concrete Genie too - supposed to be great and I understand there's a VR mode in it, even if it's not the full game!

EDIT: I missed Control! I guess i get to see what the fuss was all about - awesome month!

generic-user-name1184d ago

Look it up, they just released a deep dive on it today.

SullysCigar1184d ago (Edited 1184d ago )

Cool, thanks, just looked it up - deeper than I thought and looks pretty promising. I look forward to having my ass handed to me next week then lol

Edit: In case anyone else wants to see the 7 minute deep dive:

ABizzel11184d ago

I'm surprised to say Destruction Allstars looks a lot better than I thought. It's not my kind of game, but I can play it for a bit. Looks like Rocket League meets Fortnite, and I don't know why they wouldn't have shown it off significantly more.

That being said they need to eventually bring it to PC as well, to make sure that it keeps a community, and if they can PS4. PS5 is too new to carry this game for too long, and as more games come out the community will slowly move to the new game releases.

LucasRuinedChildhood1184d ago (Edited 1184d ago )

Make sure to download the PS5 version of Control as well (PS5 upgrade is included in Ultimate Edition).

When you add it to your library, it will probably come up as the PS4 version initially so it's quite easy to accidentally download the wrong version

potatoseal1184d ago

It's easy to choose which version to download on the PS5 now. They changed it. Before I heard it was a bit of a hassle. But apparently they fixed it

Teflon021184d ago (Edited 1184d ago )

When downloading on the PS5 now. It brings up a list and asks which versions and such do you want to download. It'll let them know without a hassle.

They just gotta pay attention with Disc upgrades as someone might miss the advert box for DLC and such being a upgrade button instead. Got my first upgradable disc game yesterday (Atelier Ryza 2) and thought it would have just immediately ask which to download. But then mid install realized it was the ps4 version and saw the upgrade prompt above the trophies

Now that Remedy owns Control, it’s time to reclaim Quantum Break

Alan Wake 2 studio Remedy Entertainment has reclaimed the rights to Control, and now sci-fi hit Quantum Break deserves the same treatment.

Totally agree with that especially when Quantum Break has several references to Alan Wake and Alan Wake make allusions to QB.
I do believe that MS and Remedy can work things out and MS has usually been nice to devs and publishers regarding IP.

Obscure_Observer56d ago

They can't "reclaim" what was never theirs.

Petebloodyonion56d ago

I’m sure we can settle for purchase from MS the IP.

Lightning7756d ago

MS is not doin anything with it. Plus they're doing a multiverse of their own so Remedy needs the IP.

If MS wants to have exclusive let it be timed for 6 months then go to other platforms. MS seems to be, let's say, generous with some if their games as of late.

Or have QB2 be multiplat from the jump, put it on GP. Keeping QB2 as an exclusive is kinda weird these days.

Obscure_Observer56d ago (Edited 56d ago )

@Petebloodyonion

"I’m sure we can settle for purchase from MS the IP."

Good luck

@Lightning77

"MS is not doin anything with it."

Japan Studio is dead nd Sony isn´t doing anything with Bloodborne either! Yet I can 100% guarantee that there´s a far bigger demand for a sequel, remake or even a remaster for that game from both PS5 and PC gamers.

That been said, why don´t you ask Sony tol sell the IP to Fromsoftware now that according to rumors, they bought Elden Ring from Bandai?

ZwVw56d ago (Edited 56d ago )

Reclaim? That would mean that they actually owned the ip at one point, which they never did (MS always has). Apples & oranges. Remedy always owned the Control ip (just not the publishing), as they have with Alan Wake.

About as likely as them getting the Max Payne rights from Rockstar.

mastershredder56d ago (Edited 56d ago )

Sending you game to a publisher does not mean they get "rights to own it " unless that was part of the contract (monetary/ strategic reasons). 505 was the publisher they worked with to publish and distribute it, it dos not mean that 505 flat out "owned" anything, clearly they did have a special arrangement that made them open to limit their publishing rights. and so here we are and big whoop

Jingsing56d ago (Edited 56d ago )

Yeah get Quantum Break PS5, only if you put it on disc with all the associated movie material.

isarai56d ago

I mean they got the Alan Wake IP back from MS, so I feel like they could get QB back as well

Remedy Takes Full Control of Control Franchise From 505 Games

Remedy Entertainment has announced that they've purchased the full rights to the Control franchise from 505 Games.

isarai57d ago

Oh nice, I wonder if they'll try to do the same with Max Payne 🤔

-Foxtrot57d ago

I hope so, Rockstar ain't doing shit with it sadly.

I loved the gameplay in Max Payne 3, it was fantastic but it just didn't feel like Max Payne at its core, it felt like they were doing a new IP or experimenting with one and reshaped it into Max Payne

The Noire, the atmosphere, the dark grittiness, the graphic novel cutscenes, Mona Saxx were all missing.

I'm hoping if they ever get the rights back they do their own version of Max Payne 3, off the secret ending from MP2 where Mona survives.

Max was finally starting to heal thanks to Mona in MP2 and in MP3 they just put his character back to square one, all that development gone.

isarai57d ago

Kinda what I'm thinking too, like as much as I'd love for R* to give it their unmatched magic touch, they're not doing anything with it.

I loved MP3, only gripe was that the story had very little to do with Max personally but it was still great. The Mona ending would be amazing and honestly not entirely out of the realm since MP is kinda considered part of the control universe, though I would like that to stay out of MP as much as possible and be it's own thing.

The fact that we haven't gotten a MP3 remaster is crazy imo

JL293057d ago

Why would you need a Max Payne 3 remaster? You must be on console.

isarai57d ago

I'm on both, still want a remaster

GamerRN57d ago

I think Control was a great game that deserves a sequel

Machina57d ago

A sequel is in the works - they announced it a couple of years ago.
