Concept artist and Horizon Zero Dawn Lead Principle Designer, Mike Nash, has passed away.
bummer, he looks really young too. RIP
Such a talented artist. He will be missed. RIP.
Sorry to hear, RIP
Another great talent, gone far to soon. RIP
A young 26 years old..smh. Hopefully wherever he may be now he's starting his new journey in peace & blissfulness.
He was 36 not 26
Yes. My mistake.
Clarification came in from his family. He was actually 35.
Man that totally sucks. The work he did in HZD was truly outstanding. Such a loss.
It’s never a good time to lose someone and 36 is way to young. RIP Mike. You will be missed and your work always recognized for the talented person you were.
R.I.P. Mike. Your work was outstanding.
Such unbelievable talent, gone.. His absence will be missed from the studio :( RIP
Sucks.. probably corona I guess. He is way too young.
Given his age, extremely unlikely to be Covid unless he had some other serious chronic health issue. His youth and the noticably unstated cause Iead me to a different theory. No less tragic regardless of cause though. Gone way too young.
Not sure why i got dislikes. Hopefully I didnt offend anyone. Im just saying people are falling like flies right now at our hospital, many of them young.
Apparently... the family hasn't spoken yet, but apparently he was dealing with depression and committed suicide. There's even a YT video talking about this but we'll see, I guess the family will eventually release an statement
I see. I think people would be less likely to get to that point if they have access to information about how they can reach out to get help. unfortunately the people in these situations are also less likely to seek that help. Often It requires a hero someone to come in and intervene to get the person to understand that no matter how unique his/her situation is, there are many many people dealing with similar situations or/and are feeling trapped also, and that these people would be able to understand and help each other. They can feel lonely together and that is a powerful remedy.
May his soul rest in peace...
R.I.P Isn't there another guy from this studio that passed away awhile ago?.... If so thats crazy!
RIP, this next decade will be the darkest in human history.
36 old. Sad.
Fantastic artist, prayers for his family.
So many people are dying these days. It seems I'm constantly hearing of someone talented passing. :(
Sad time we're living in. We loss a great talent.
Damn, thinking about his family @ this time. May God strengthen them
36 y/o, super talented, decent family man probably.... One of life's reminders that life is fragile and can be cut short at any time. So sad for all that knew him. 😔
But he died... RIP Mike. Amazing talent. Feel bad for his family.
Your work will live on forever. Rest in peace.
He does have a YT page.. I didn't realise he was an Aussie... Im am not in anyway concluding the outcome as to what is a very terrible situation.... However , it does seem he was fighting his own demons, having Depression, and ADHD... It seems he was a generous man, he had a platform to help other upcoming artists.. And as a creative myself (Music) , its always good to give back and help where you can.. As also he did videos on his personal situation, again, sharing his most difficult moments to also help others... Again , I wont conclude as to why, I don't know, but he definitely seemed he had his own personal troubles, but a very generous guy. So whatever maybe , my condolences to all his family and friends.
Very young talent to lose in the gaming industry. Quite tragic news.
Hopefully he left someone behind who understood him and understood what the world lost when he died. To quote my own father, "its always been you and me, son". I hope he had that with someone.
