Much deserved! Amazing game on so many levels and much loved, as shown by the completion rate! :^)

Snookies121185d ago (Edited 1185d ago )

Deserves each and every one of them! The game was a crazy ride, with a level of meticulous detail I've yet to see anything else come close to. Though, Naughty Dog has proven again and again that they're in a league of their own when it comes to going that extra mile on things most people wouldn't ever even take the time of day to notice.

_SilverHawk_1185d ago

The last of us 2 is the best game released last generation and is the best game this generation so far technologically. Naughty dog is the best gaming studio

Nyxus1185d ago

24 The Last of Us Part II
21 Ghost of Tsushima
20 Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales

Looks like Sony did quite well.

waverider1185d ago

It was one of the best years of sony history. That simple.

Abnor_Mal1185d ago

"Unsurprisingly, Sony left every other publisher in the dust with 70 nominations in total between all of its games, mostly thanks to Ghost of Tsushima, Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and The Last of Us Part II itself."

crazyCoconuts1185d ago

The movement in this game is so good. Immediately after finishing it I moved on to Ghost of Tsushima and first impressions were that Ghost's movement was janky. It wasn't, as I've adjusted, but TLOU2 is so amazing it spoils you...

TheKingKratos1185d ago

Yeah I did the same thing .... and it was jarring going from TLOU2 to GOT
TLOU is so high up it wasn't fair to play ghost after it but I adjust and still enjoyed my time with GOT

Kilua1184d ago

Lol, thought i was the only one. Going from TLOU 2 and jumping into ghosts straight after, the difference in the quality of animations and movement in characters especially was very jarring. But then you continue playing and realise how top notch Ghosts is.

Christopher1184d ago

Actually the exact same, tbh. TLOU2, hate the story or not, was really refined technically. I still prefer GoT overall (bias due to it being my favorite genre of game), but TLOU2 deserves so many awards for tech and graphics/design.

kneon1184d ago

That's how it always is with Naughty Dog games. After finishing one I try to play something completely different, like a racing game or something, otherwise it will just seem like crap by comparison.

nommers1185d ago

Garbage site. COD black ops cold war was nominated for Goty but not FF7R or Hades?

frostypants1185d ago

That definitely raised an eyebrow. They don't appear to have put much thought to it beyond popularity.

NE: "We're looking at ACNH and ACNL to determine which is the better game and how future entries can learn from both of them."

After the hype wore off during the height of COVID I found New Horizons disappointing compared to. Ew Leaf

NH gave us a lot more cool features but then took things away which they slowly drip fed us with poor updates

Crazy how much it sold and how popular it was during COVID and it got such terrible support

We need more control in the next game, the fact we couldn’t move the airport or town hall was ridiculous and certain items were randomised, like I could get a black lamppost unless a friend gave me one of his because mine were green.

Nyxus20d ago

In the end I still prefer New Leaf, one of the most important factors being the breakable tools. It gets pretty annoying when you have to keep making bug nets, fishing rods etc in New Horizons.

scorpio_204919d ago

It came out at the perfect time and was completely abandoned save for a couple of small updates. Those months after release could have taken the game to a whole other level but I guess Nintendo wasn’t impressed with the number of active players.

I would be on it. Especially if they change up the gameplay to differentiate from first game. Loved the first.

Currently enjoying Rise of Ronin.

blackblades21d ago

Both have different gameplay but it amazes me how people kept comparing just because they both are samurai. Seems kinda ...... that im not gonna mention.

Cacabunga21d ago

Bend studios making a gaas game and getting lot of negative comments abt that direction.
I hope these stay faithful to making amazing SP games..

Demetrius20d ago

Definitely getting ronin soon, I'm on my 2nd playthrough of GOT on ps5 this time🔥

-Foxtrot22d ago

Probably my most anticipated to be announced

I hope Jinns story continues and we get way more stealth tactics like dragging bodies away and the like.

Lightning7722d ago

I fully expect this game to be announced. Late 2025 release perhaps.

Either way I can't wait for its announcement at Sony's showcase.

Friendlygamer21d ago (Edited 21d ago )

I'm hoping for more complex interior level design for stealth gameplay and also a more complex stance system that's more than rock paper and scissor for each enemy type

RhinoGamer8821d ago

I have stopped pre-ordering games since Cyberpunk 2077 fiasco...this is a game I will make an exception for...

Modern Games Are Getting Too Long

While there’s a lot to love about modern video games, there is one trend — particularly in the AAA space — that tends to grate: their length.

Games are coming out with too much fluff and side activities that are horribly dull. That's my main issue with all these open world games. Open world should be about exploration, discovery and wonder, not have some stupid 10s or 100s of boring activities spread throughout.

IAMRealHooman22d ago

100% agree
All these ubisoft titles, Farcry, AC, Ghost recon, boast huge maps, but with the same, 3 missions or the same base to clear 100s of times. Hour 1 of any of those titles is the same as hour 100, there big for the sake of being big, with the illusion of player freedom, where we really want depth and player expression.

Ninver21d ago

Give me a solid 15-20 hour engaging single player driven IP any day. Life's too short you dig.

isarai22d ago

I stopped buying overfluffed games like a decade ago. Cant stand games with the Ubisoft mindset of just filling maps with uselss collectibles and fodder. Make it mean something. Ill gladly take 1/4 size of the map and 1/10th the "content" if it all meant more, were more unique and greater affect on your progression.

Abnor_Mal22d ago (Edited 22d ago )

Well people complained like the world was ending when a few games were six to ten hours of gameplay. Developers listened and started making longer games full of repetitive gameplay, time wasting fetch quest and other forms of bloat. In doing so they were able to justify the high cost of a game being sold to the customers at seventy dollars or more.

H922d ago

Filler, it's like a 80 episodes show where only the first and last episodes actually matter

Inverno22d ago

It's been a problem with pretty much every modern AAA game all through last gen and this gen. God forbid you point it out tho because all these big games are masterpieces and people lose their minds if you criticize them. Death Stranding is a fetch quest fest, but people will die defending it cause it's a "masterpiece".
