Baltimore (January 11, 2020) / NAVGTR CORP. – The National Academy of Video Game Trade Reviewers, a 501(c)(3) non-profit media organization of 1,200 media voters and 12,000 subscribers, has announced nominees for its 20th annual awards program honoring video game art, technology and production.
Leading all games with a record-setting 24 nominations is The Last of Us Part II, developed by Naughty Dog. Close behind is Ghost of Tsushima with 21 nominations.
NE: "We're looking at ACNH and ACNL to determine which is the better game and how future entries can learn from both of them."
After the hype wore off during the height of COVID I found New Horizons disappointing compared to. Ew Leaf
NH gave us a lot more cool features but then took things away which they slowly drip fed us with poor updates
Crazy how much it sold and how popular it was during COVID and it got such terrible support
We need more control in the next game, the fact we couldn’t move the airport or town hall was ridiculous and certain items were randomised, like I could get a black lamppost unless a friend gave me one of his because mine were green.
In the end I still prefer New Leaf, one of the most important factors being the breakable tools. It gets pretty annoying when you have to keep making bug nets, fishing rods etc in New Horizons.
It came out at the perfect time and was completely abandoned save for a couple of small updates. Those months after release could have taken the game to a whole other level but I guess Nintendo wasn’t impressed with the number of active players.
Rumours and murmurings suggest that Ghost of Tsushima 2 will be announced soon. Here is what we'd love to see in the sequel.
I would be on it. Especially if they change up the gameplay to differentiate from first game. Loved the first.
Currently enjoying Rise of Ronin.
Probably my most anticipated to be announced
I hope Jinns story continues and we get way more stealth tactics like dragging bodies away and the like.
I fully expect this game to be announced. Late 2025 release perhaps.
Either way I can't wait for its announcement at Sony's showcase.
I'm hoping for more complex interior level design for stealth gameplay and also a more complex stance system that's more than rock paper and scissor for each enemy type
I have stopped pre-ordering games since Cyberpunk 2077 fiasco...this is a game I will make an exception for...
While there’s a lot to love about modern video games, there is one trend — particularly in the AAA space — that tends to grate: their length.
Games are coming out with too much fluff and side activities that are horribly dull. That's my main issue with all these open world games. Open world should be about exploration, discovery and wonder, not have some stupid 10s or 100s of boring activities spread throughout.
I stopped buying overfluffed games like a decade ago. Cant stand games with the Ubisoft mindset of just filling maps with uselss collectibles and fodder. Make it mean something. Ill gladly take 1/4 size of the map and 1/10th the "content" if it all meant more, were more unique and greater affect on your progression.
Well people complained like the world was ending when a few games were six to ten hours of gameplay. Developers listened and started making longer games full of repetitive gameplay, time wasting fetch quest and other forms of bloat. In doing so they were able to justify the high cost of a game being sold to the customers at seventy dollars or more.
Filler, it's like a 80 episodes show where only the first and last episodes actually matter
It's been a problem with pretty much every modern AAA game all through last gen and this gen. God forbid you point it out tho because all these big games are masterpieces and people lose their minds if you criticize them. Death Stranding is a fetch quest fest, but people will die defending it cause it's a "masterpiece".
24! Damn. Amazing work ND.
24 The Last of Us Part II
21 Ghost of Tsushima
20 Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales
Looks like Sony did quite well.
Well deserved
The movement in this game is so good. Immediately after finishing it I moved on to Ghost of Tsushima and first impressions were that Ghost's movement was janky. It wasn't, as I've adjusted, but TLOU2 is so amazing it spoils you...
Garbage site. COD black ops cold war was nominated for Goty but not FF7R or Hades?
