Hitman 3 Review - IGN

Rich, rewarding, and highly replayable, Hitman 3 is one of the barcoded butcher's best appearances.

alextdarling1567d ago

IO interactive nailing it again - this is on my must play list for this year.

Cant wait to get my hands on it.

SullysCigar1567d ago (Edited 1567d ago )

Got my PSVR poised - this is gonna be so worth the wait!

Abnor_Mal1567d ago

I havent played this trilogy yet myself, but PSVR will be the way I play.

I guess your disagrees are from people who can't play in VR.

guys, do I need to play previous Hitman to understand this?
also I think I read somewhere the previous 2 games are included in this game? is that true?

NeoGamer2321567d ago (Edited 1567d ago )

I may be wrong, but my understanding is that the tech behind this new hitman has been applied to the last two hitman games. not, these games are included with hitman 3. the tech has significantly reduced the size of the games.

hitman 1 and 2 often go on sale digitally for 80% off. just watch and you can get them cheap if you buy digital. if you buy physical, it is easy to find the games cheap. I have bought both at 80% off, but have not played either yet.

Double_O_Revan1567d ago

You need to own them to be able to play them in 3. I believe they said there is an upgrade option directly within the game for those that don't. But you don't get them automatically.

Profchaos1567d ago (Edited 1567d ago )

From what was explained in the review the story takes a back seat to level design and mission quality. It's nice to finish the trilogy but its not like you need to have a full working knowledge of the story to know what the point of it is you are Hitman and you have a target get creative or not.

I have played a few levels of the remake but overall I'm in the dark and more interested in buying this for the VR

Since I'm unable to get my hands on a PS5, I can't decide if I want to preorder this for Stadia or Steam. 😢

Psychotica1567d ago

It's not on Steam, it's on Epic..

ssmilloy361567d ago

dang it. i built my pc with steam in mind. now i gotta build one for epic. when's it ever going to end

StoneyYoshi1567d ago

@ssmilloy36

"i built my pc with steam in mind. now i gotta build one for epic."

WHAT???????? Please tell me this was a really bad joke?

masterfox1567d ago (Edited 1567d ago )

@stoney
No is not a joke and let it be, let him build a gaming rig for each game provider , remember Gaming PCs aren't powerful enough to run more than one game service sadly. :D

CantThinkOfAUsername1567d ago

@StoneyYoshi, it's not a bad joke at all.

Stadia? Loool that would be the worst investment of a lifetime.

That service will eventually be shut down for good.

marioJP871567d ago

Money is not a problem for me.

Eidolon1566d ago

Soooo why can't you get a gaming rig, or a PS5.... Stadia/streaming just ruins the point of next-gen graphics, and graphics period. it's just convenience. Get it on Steam if you can't afford a scalped PS5.

Mindshift1566d ago

Stadia is only growing and adding features. It's not going anywhere bud.

Mindshift1566d ago (Edited 1566d ago )

Definitely get it on Stadia. It has state share. A brand new google feature that allows you to play other people's state of the game. Endless replay value.
Also, state share will work for the older versions of the game.

Off topic: I'm extremely excited about I0's 007 game. I hope they fully realize their vision on next gen consoles.

seanpitt231567d ago (Edited 1567d ago )

Resident evil 2 engine with the gore physics would be awesome in this game.. hitman games are all the same with no innovation and very bad AI

lukasmain1567d ago

Reviewers seem to be loving it

lodossrage1567d ago

I can't judge a hitman game since I never played one. But using the defense of reviewers like it doesn't really count for much when we know opinions have been bought in the game industry

KyRo1567d ago

You've clearly not played Hitman for a very very very long time.

chiefJohn1171567d ago

The AI is not bad. And yes the hitman games are all the same but that's okay that's why we love them. We just want good new locations and variety of ways to assassinate that's all.

DragonWarrior191567d ago

Exactly, plus the games wouldn't be fun if the AI was hyper aware and "realistic". It's a video game and you are playing as a bald dude with a barcode on his head, obviously he'd be easy to find.

P_Bomb1567d ago (Edited 1567d ago )

The innovation is in the execution. It’s a puzzle game wrapped in blood money. Environmental opportunities and subterfuge are preferable to guns in almost every case. Manipulating targets into killing themselves, using sound to reshape the battlefield. Even the sniper assassin missions reward creativity, hiding bodies via bullet physics.

HITMAN Freelancer Review, Agent 47 at His Very Best

ESTNN Wrties: "When Hitman's World of Assassination was revealed at E3 2015, IO Interactive probably didn't expect the Odyssey they would go on with this project. Over 8 years and 3 releases, IO Interactive went from being owned by Square Enix to being picked up and published by Warner, only to go independent with the final entry.

This sounds messy on paper, but IO Interactive also casually released the best stealth game ever made and one of the best titles of the past 10 years. While other franchises tried to be more accessible to wider audiences, the Hitman Trilogy doubled down and focused on the core strengths of the series while also being respectful of its own legacy."
