Yakuza Like a Dragon will be released this March for the PS5, and in addition to this, an International Edition will arrive in Asia with post-launch DLC.
Hyped for this one!
It's a really great game. I hope you'll enjoy it.
game runs a horribly optimized engine. just saying. for what you see onscreen you should be getting a whole lot more in performance at 4k. situation's also the same on pc. better middleware tools could have brought this game to life.
Thanks man I will! I really hope Microsoft still allows this franchise on Playstation if they end up acquiring Sega. The more exposure Yakuza gets, the better IMO.
@LOGICWINS I wouldn't worry about that, Microsoft is definitely never going to acquire SEGA or any japanese developers.
Sega and ms would never work out well together cause their direction in gaming is very different from Ms stuff(online+fps) .. Sega +Nintendo, or Sega+Sony would be a much better team cause they all usually focus on new ips, single player and third person action games.
@logicwins "I really hope Microsoft still allows this franchise on Playstation if they end up acquiring Sega." lol. Xbox fans are nothing if not hopeful.
My favorite Yakuza game so far.
Having never played a yakuza game before this game is fantastic, hope you enjoy it as much as I did
Nice, this is the version I'll be getting.
"Yakuza Like a Dragon Runs at 4K/30 and 1440/60 On Series X" Nyxus - "game is terrible on the console." "Yakuza Like a Dragon Runs at 4K/30 and 1440/60 On PS5" Nyxus - "Nice, this is the version I'll be getting."
Can you link me to that comment I apparently made about the Xbox Series X? Because I don't seem to remember it... But that explains the downvotes, a horde of salty Xbox fanboys, for some reason.
fact of the matter is Series S also offers a 1440p mode and now so does PS5. https://n4g.com/news/237854... you can definitely spot the critics in this thread over it's two modes on xbox. and now PS5 has the same two modes so that puts the argument to rest. as it was developer issue with their engine.
@Genkins Yes, XSS offer a 1440p mode just like the PS5....but at 30fps. On PS5/XSX is 60
@BLizardXD Nyxus didn't make any comment at all in the Xbox article: https://n4g.com/news/237854...
Glad Microsoft's temporary exclusive of the Next Gen version is over been holding off buying the game until the physical PS5 version was released.
Yep I’m in the same boat. Enjoy
Do we know if the PS5 is getting a physical North American release from Sega? Or am I going to have to import this if I want a disc copy?
the only way to get a locked 60 was to drop it down to 1080p on the x
The 60fps mode is also 1440p on Series X, not 1080p. There was a 1080p mode in previews, but I believe that was scrapped before launch because optimizations made it unnecessary. I've had Like a Dragon since launch and it only has two modes, 4K/30 and 1440/60.
It has lots of modes... On pc :)
Actually destiny aint wrong as such i think he ment 1080p at a very stable 60fps as the series x version offers 3 modes Normal mode at 1440p at 60fps Resolution mode at 4k at 30fps Performance mode 1080p at 60fps If thats the case then ps5 will be missing a mode
Series X does *not* have 3 modes. It has two. Quality, which is 4K/30. And Normal, which is 1440/60. It does not have a third mode. That was only ever mentioned in previews and was removed before release. Stop spreading this false information. The SX and PS5 versions are, from what we can tell, entirely identical. Which is to be expected.
Not true at all, there is 3 modes, 1440P unlocked, 1080/60 and 4k/30 go check the DF video.
@Whitey2k "Normal mode at 1440p at 60fps Resolution mode at 4k at 30fps Performance mode 1080p at 60fps" How is performance mode worse than normal mode?
thank you for spreading false information.
😂🤣😂 And gamers thought we were gonna get 4K/60 fps natively this gen. I told you so.
I think there was certain group of Xbox fans expecting that. Truthfully ya can’t blame them fully. They did have a company promoting 4K/60. Every chance they got. But yes anyone who has had a pc for the past couple of years knows that it was gonna be hard to hit 4K/60. Especially with ray tracing. But there is hope of games running better than what we have thought.. I means spider man does run 1440p 60 FPS and ray tracing. It’s the very first game out of the gate so I would say we will see some improvements. Last we might get 4K/60, with mid gen refreshes. In 3 years it totally seems plausible. Or machine like up Rez. Or it’s already pretty much been proven you can stay right around 1440 P have a good temporal aliasing and no one will tell the difference anyways. But 4/k 60 should be possible this gen with mid gen refresh. If anyone sees the point in doing. I think games are gonna focus more on cpu going forward for next 5 years .
pretty sure everyone had their hopes up. Usually it was the PC crowd that was trying to temper expectations. But nobody wanted to listen. 4K/60 with ray tracing would be an insanely expensive console.
"I told you so." You did? You've got two years worth of comments in two pages of comments history. Closest I'm seeing to your "I told you so" is..... "And people still think games are gonna run thoroughly at 120 fps ... even hopes of 8K." "And console gamers think PS5 will run ray tracing games at 4K 60 fps... Yet, one of the highest end PC GPUs can't run it at 50 FPS 4K thoroughly." https://n4g.com/user/commen... You seem to come in with these tidbits of wisdom AFTER the announcements and act like you knew them all along. Nothing you've said before suggests you were saying consoles wouldn't do native 4k/60.
Wow. How does it taste? I mean, I only ask because you just ate that chump alive in record time. Hahaha man that was funny
Tastes like chicken ;-)
I always said that 1440p would be the sweet spot for next gen, especially with ray tracing, but everyone wanted to disagree with me.
Looks like another game I'll get for the PS5 if I can ever get the system. I've gotten all the PS systems upon release (except the first) no problem, but can't believe how hard it is getting a PS5 right now.
You need to set up an alert on twitter, then rush over soon as notified and stand in line. But I think pretty soon Sony will be flooding the market with them so you can just walk to store and pick one up.
Hopefully it won't be too much longer and they do flood the market with them
I'm confused, I thought the PS5 didn't offer 1440p yet?
1440p unscaled to 4k.
It doesn't say that though, if that was the case it would say native 4K/30 and upscaled 4K/60. They wouldn't specify 1440 as it sounds inferior
Games can have any resolution, the system itself doesn't output a 1440p signal. So if you have a 1440p monitor that doesnt automatically take 4k signals(mine does) the ps5 will only output 1080p. This is how ps4 works and the wording of how ps5 works is similar. For example if you play this game on one of those monitors, you will be locked to 1080p which your monitor may upscale, which ends up really blurry.
Weird game but im enjoying it, the cut scenes are very long its like watching a movie and then getting to control the fighting, i didnt think id like it but its got some great characters and humor
I bought it yesterday for PS4!! And i'm very happy i can update it for free :D Not going to wait for that tho, i will start playing it in these days (a bit this and a bit Days Gone) :P
"Don't worry these guys commenting will have the same energy when it runs at the exact same FPS and resolution on the PS5... /s It's not the console it's the optimization and I cant believe people are falling for this bait." Got a lot of shit for this comment back when the xbox series X resolutions were announced. 1440p 60 on both consoles with a further 4k 30 mode and a lot of people on this site genuinely thought the series X was too weak to do 4k in this game?? This website is a gold mine of stupidity sometimes
People probably thought that the Series X would do better, since they bragged about how powerful it will be for almost a year.
Funny how short people's memories are right lol? Oh, and it was longer than a year lol. Then we can't forget the regular X1X either. It kinda seems like all one blur now lol.
"Got a lot of shit for this comment back when the xbox series X resolutions were announced. 1440p 60 on both consoles with a further 4k 30 mode and a lot of people on this site genuinely thought the series X was too weak to do 4k in this game?? This website is a gold mine of stupidity sometimes" Nonsense. I didn't say anything about "series X was too weak to do 4k". I gave you shit because you were referencing PS5 to make excuses for XSX after all the "power on paper" chest-pumping. Here is the actual conversation: https://n4g.com/news/237854...
I mean I'm talking about the comments in the article along with the reaction to mine, not necessarily your terrible attempt at a counter argument. Don't know why you're so hurt about my comments that you thought I was referencing you particularly as you didn't say anything dumb about the series X, but hey more power to you
"I mean I'm talking about the comments in the article along with the reaction to mine, not necessarily your terrible attempt at a counter argument." You quoted yourself and said YOU "got shit" for that quote. Who gave you shit? Me. "Don't know why you're so hurt about my comments that you thought I was referencing you particularly as you didn't say anything dumb about the series X, but hey more power to you" No, I didn't say anything dumb about the XSX, but that didn't stop you from saying I did. This is you: "If games like AC: Valhalla will run natively at 4k 60fps what makes you think the xbox is underpowered to handle a last gen yakuza game?" As I pointed out in response, I didn't say that at all. If you want to call out stupid counter arguments, start there. If you want to to call me out then call me out and stop pretending you were talking about the "comments in the article along with the reaction to mine". That's bullshit and you know it.
4K 30fps LMAO. Better option would be if they tried for 1080p/120fps, or as close to 120fps as possible at 1080p. More FPS is a much better gameplay experience. Even 60fps at least for me is not cutting it.
Does anyone know the resolution and framerate on the ps4 pro and Xbox one x? I'm playing this game on my xbox one x on a 4k tv. I just wonder the resolution and framerste stats on ps4 pro and Xbox one x
Anyone into hardware would know that if you want 1440p with quite high FPS like 90+ (sweet spot for noticing it more smooth over 60FPS) that you would need a decent gaming PC with a 3070 or 3080 class GPU.
I really need to start and finish Judgement, it has been in my backlog for far to long and i want to play that before starting Yakuza 7. In all the conversations i have seen surrounding Yakuza 7, Judgement seems to be kinda forgotton about which is a shame as by all accounts its a fantastic game.
I want to play that as well. I think I’ll pick this up now though and play it on PS5, then get the PS4 version of judgment.
Sounds like a plan squire. I bought Judgement over the Christmas period really cheaply, so it makes sense for me to take a run at that first.
Haha I had to look up squire. Very cool word. “ a man of high social standing who owns and lives on an estate in a rural area” “ a title given to a magistrate, lawyer, or judge in some rural districts.” Historical “ a young nobleman acting as an attendant to a knight before becoming a knight himself” Informal British “ used by a man as a friendly or humorous form of address to another man.”
Game is amazing! I was truly skeptical about the turn based combat(being a fan of the beat em up style of the previous games) but its done wonderfully! People waiting for the ps5 version are in for a treat!
I thought Song mentioned that the PS5 wont do 1440p like the Xbox Series X. Just 4K and 1080P. Looks like they had a change of plans :) thats good to know
