COG writes: It's the most speculative time of the year, and I am fully in the spirit. Let's talk about what the first full year of the new generation of gaming could hold.
Covid will continue to be the go to excuse for CDPR levels of ineptitude.
People will bash companies because it's the hip thing to do and everyone else is doing it.... Survey says....
'I predict that later this year in the September – December window, Sony will release a new version of the PSVR' Sorry buddy but this won't be happening. I've been following this topic very closely. PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan has gone on record to say PSVR2 is NOT happening this year. He said in 2020: “I think we’re more than a few minutes from the future of VR. PlayStation believes in VR. Sony believes in VR, and we definitely believe at some point in the future, VR will represent a meaningful component of interactive entertainment. Will it be this year? No. Will it be next year? No. But will it come at some stage? We believe that." https://www.mcvuk.com/busin...
Covid is a real issue not an excuse. Development teams are large for games and require a lot of collaboration and the custom tools for game development are not well suited to working remotely. There was real pain with developers when COVID broke and we are seeing that translated to delays. Expect more games to be delayed as well. The world doesn't seem like it is getting back to normal until at least late spring or summer.
There will always be a new strain out to control you. Expect to always be wearing a mask outside or in public
@phoenixwing Yes, there will always be new viruses, people should have the choice to wear a mask or not, but with COVID-19 people are being asked to wear a mask, not because there are government is running our lives, but to make sure that hospitals are not over run with COVID-19 patients. The health care systems around the world are stressed more then they ever have been. Wearing a mask is a small thing that everyone can do to help lesson the strain on health care worldwide. I have no problems with people that decide they need to wear a mask forever. I probably won't myself, but I will not think less of anyone who decides that a mask is for them.
3 boring predictions on an ad-overrun page before forcing you to click next again. No thanks
It was 5 on a page, 2 pages total. I liked the predictions for the most part. Would love to see a PSVR 2 this year like mentioned. I have a feeling though that it will only be revealed this year and come out next year.
PSVR 2 won’t come out until at least 2022z
"Assassin's creed taking a year off" How very bold...couldn't in my wildest dreams have predicted that.
I would honest classify ALL of these in 2 different categories; 1) Dumb and obvious. & 2) Not going to happen. Notice "bold" is not in either descriptor.
