VGChartz's Craig Snow: "For much of the year it looked like 2020 was going to be a repeat of 2019, when Sony (Gran Turismo), Microsoft (Forza), and Nintendo (Mario Kart) all left the racing field wide open for other publishers to step into the spotlight and claim the crown of Best Racing Game.
But then Nintendo surprised everyone in September by announcing that a new Mario Kart game had been in the works and that it was going to launch just a month later, in October. And as if that wasn't enough, it would be the most experimental entry in the series to-date, utilising real-life toys and props so that people could race around their own homes. It would go up against Codies mainstay franchises F1 and DiRT, both of which returned with highly acclaimed new mainline entries this year. Rounding out the pack was Project CARS 3, which demonstrated that Slightly Mad Studios hadn't lost its touch, at least not where its Project CARS series was concerned, even if it had massively flubbed Fast & Furious Crossroads."
Slightly Mad Studios founder and former CEO Ian Bell has disclosed that the maligned Project CARS 3 could have had a different name, which could have more clearly signposted the game’s intent.
This game was criminally reviewed by every loser on the Internet who was bitter and angry that this wasn't a complete simulation nor a complete arcade racing game, it was so well designed and the driving model was so much fun, much like drive club but slightly more sim if you wanted to adjust The settings and also slightly more arcade if you want to adjust those settings. One of the most fun games I've played in years. "Reviewers" just couldn't get this game a fair shake and had to badmouth it unfairly because they're too bitter and angry from still not getting laid.
Racing simulator games are more realistic than ever. Here's a list of the best racing simulator games if you need a Holiday rush.
With the DualSense's adaptive triggers, racing games feel right at home on the PS5, but which are the best racing games?
Man I wish arcade racers would make a comeback. Racing games have become so boring if you're not into SIM or semi-Sims. That isn't discrediting SIMs, I'd just rather get chased by police, ram people off the road, drift at impossible speeds. The Crew 2 and NFS are just a bit average at best.
We need Midnight Club
Dirt 5 loving it:)
Dirt 5? This a joke? It’s trash with a capital ‘T’. Another shabby post by vgchartz.
