Remember flying? AMC does. And now you might too. A review of the bizarrely mundane, and equally strangely cathartic, Airplane Mode.
WTMG's Leo Faria: "We played a lot of games in 2020 in order to forget about the chaos ensuing outside our homes. Most of the games we’ve played this year were actually pretty good, but that doesn’t mean there weren’t a few stinkers that made us remember we were still trapped in this nightmare of a year. It’s time to exorcise these disasters from our consciousness, paying one last “tribute” to them before we start repressing our memories."
"Grab your luggage, we have a flight to catch. Airplane Mode is a simulation game available on PC from developers Bacronym, and publisher AMC." Martin @ Thumb Culture
WTMG's Leo Faria: "I truly question Airplane Mode‘s existence, but I have to praise its developers for being upfront and honest with it. It’s incredibly boring, but so is being stuck inside an airplane for six hours in real life. This game can be called lots of things, such as a waste of time and an act of hubris, but it’s definitely not false advertising. This is a very accurate portrayal of what you can (and cannot) do while traveling in economy class, for better or for worse. I still cannot recommend to anyone, besides the half a dozen weirdos out there who really, really, desperately miss the feeling of being inside an airplane due to the current COVID-19 pandemic."
