Don't do this side mission that shows exactly how predatory Night City is on purpose and isn't intended to act as a "every side mission ends well for you" much like Night City itself let alone, you know, the ending of the first act?

I havent read it, but is it scripted that you lose your money and cant get them back? Seems un-rpg like if the game has to force that on you to make its point.

AFAIK, you don't. And it's kind of the point of the mission. Instead of being the one who saves people who make these mistakes in the other side missions, you yourself get to decide to become one of those idiots. Or, you know, recognize it's a scam upfront and don't do it. I did it anyway and, afterwards, I definitely recognized how stupid I was. And it made me realize how stupid the people I was helping were. Or, perhaps how desperate they were?

Agreed. The point is you get conned. Its good narrative. Night city is a grungy shithole. Im glad they included a mission that just screws you. Nobody is immune to the apathetic beast that is night city.
