Planet Coaster: Console Edition Review: All Ups and No Downs (PS5) - KeenGamer

KeenGamer: "Planet Coaster launched back in 2016 on PC to amazing reviews. Management games are foreign to consoles; controllers can be cumbersome with the reliance on menus in the genre. Finally released on console, does Planet Coaster: Console Edition implement a strong control scheme to bring this fantastic game to a new audience?"

Such a fun game! It is on Game Pass!

Storm231647d ago

I need this game...can't wait to try it. Was obsessed with Roller Coaster Tycoon back in the day

I rarely submit news here, so sorry for any mistakes that I may have committed

This is good enough. Thanks for posting this.

I think this is an okay-ish month. As a long time fan of Theme Hospital I kinda would have liked to play Two Point Hospital but I might give 2016 game Planet Coaster a try as it's in the same vein. I might have a go on Tiny Tina... I love fantasy, and I know this is a Borderlands spin-off but am not sure if hearing a sarcastic American narrator is the right blend for me but it's worth a shot.

Kados1235d ago

@VenomUK:

This is just a standalone re-release of the BL2 DLC, not the new one.

VenomUK1235d ago

@Kados Cheers for explaining.

Can you edit in something better than UFC? Photoshop cyberpunk over it or something.

+1 Maximus. Thanks for sharing!

Planet Coaster is the one I'm interested in. My brother bought this and its really good. If you like theme park on megadrive (genesis), then this is good for you. Unfortunately this is just for PS5 so my other friends are disappointed because they got just PS4..

darthv721235d ago

Is planet coaster anything like screamride on xbox?

MaximusPrime_1235d ago

Sorry I have not played that game. I checked the videos and it looks similar. It's basically building a theme park and managing it. All set in present day not future.

yeahokwhatever1235d ago (Edited 1235d ago )

yes, they're pretty same-y. having played both, im slightly more partial to planet coaster.

CosmicTurtle1235d ago

Same developer, but planet coaster gets better reviews.

iplay1up21235d ago (Edited 1235d ago )

Played on GP . Planet Coaster is more like Roller Coaster Tycoon. It was on GP for a year. Now I might buy it. For my Series X. Since PS4 isn't getting it with PS Plus.

Planet Coaster is amazing. As someone who used to play the sh*t out of Roller Coaster Tycoon, I was hooked. Loved it and played it all the way to the Plat trophy. Takes a little while to get used to the controls but then it was a very enjoyable experience. Definitely recommend who likes these types of games.

gangsta_red1235d ago

Man...these monthly free games just don't hit like they used to

CobraKai1235d ago

They don’t. On the “Plus” side, I can play some back logged games.

gangsta_red1235d ago

That is definitely a plus

Yeah it's been such a long long....month since the last great ps plus selection...

lodossrage1235d ago

You just got Persona Strikers and Deep Rock Galactic last month.......

FinalFantasyFanatic1234d ago

I was going to say, last month was a really great month for plus, what more are they asking for? This isn't even a bad selection of games for this month either (last month is going to be really hard to top).

Interesting month since the majority of title are not super mainstream games so It's a good opportunity to try new genre.

Crows901235d ago (Edited 1235d ago )

Also a good opportunity to buy any of the other huge titles releasing in February. Pretty sure they don't want to have their selection compete with other huge releases.

They're probably saving for a bigger and drier month.

Can We Make a Successful Theme Park Just from Planet Coaster’s Spooky Pack DLC?

Richard writes: "It’s a tough ask designing a whole theme park around haunted houses and ghost trains, and it really shows with the Spooky Pack DLC for Planet Coaster: Console Edition."

Fantastic game! I am about to play it for the first time on my Series X! I am not sure how much better it will run, compared to my X1X.
