Well done chap.
Your summaries are very sophisticated.

RazzerRedux1600d ago (Edited 1600d ago )

Clutter setting are above PCs Highest setting

Happy?

phoenixwing1600d ago

looks like my 2070 super got edged out by the ps5 but I mean it's a ubisoft game and they're never really optimized much so I'm still confident in my 2070 super in a game like cyberpunk 2077. Although since I play at 2k I'm able to choose higher graphics settings which is what i bought a pc and a 2k monitor for in the first place. I applaud the ps5 though, it's definitely worth it's price.

phoenixwing1599d ago

@brett
2k is 1440p x 2560p

This game is not "optimized" for anything - it is *definitely* NOT optimized to leverage the unique architecture of either major next gen console. It is not optimized to show off how effective NVIDIA's RTX core tech is (no raytracing). It is not optimized to utilize PS5s insane IO potential for 17.3GB/s (or possibly more) texture bandwidth etc. It is just running an ***OLD*** engine and while it looks nice, it is nothing close to demonstrating what the consoles or newer NVIDIA GPUs are capable of when software is coded to utilize their very different architectural/design/compressi on-decompression approaches. If future software *is* designed to utilize the consoles' designs properly, many PC/console comparisons will likely be less valid than they are now due to very different approaches to fully utilize the hardware -- but then, multiplatform titles seldom do this so it is not too likely to be a major factor either.

BrettAwesome1596d ago

@phoenixwing
No, dummy. 1440p is 2.5k
1920 = close to 2000 = 2k
2560 = close to 2500 = 2.5k
3840 = close to 4000 = 4k
Get it??

Razzer very detailed as usual!

TheColbertinator1599d ago

@Razzer

Good work on the analysis.

SmokinAces1599d ago

You dont need to be rude and sarcastic I was simply pointing out the verbiage used, he said "very" high. I wasn't putting down your summary I was simply adding to it and clarifying, I dont know why some people have to be so defensive and triggered all the time.

RazzerRedux1599d ago

Your correction was accurate. I had no reason to be snarky. I apologize.

SmokinAces1599d ago

Apology accepted and appreciated.

To think a console that cost 399 can achieve this! Cerny and is team are really amazing!

3060Ti needed to match/exceed PS5. Looks like a 3080 is needed to get numbers in the high 70's @ 1440p according to other benchmarks

ProjectVulcan1600d ago (Edited 1600d ago )

3060Ti is faster than a 2080 Super and thus PS5. The game heavily leans towards AMD GPUs as preference, meaning a 5700XT is enough to actually match like to like.

The reality here though is that 3060Ti is much more powerful for ray tracing than any console.

It's all very well using a last gen game with no ray tracing for comparisons when most games going forward will use ray tracing of some form.

If you compare the games with heavy ray tracing which is a much more realistic scenario even an Xbox Series X can't beat a mere RTX2060 Super.

This test literally stacks everything in favour of console- no ray tracing on an old game engine favouring AMD graphics. Change any of those factors and the result skews quite significantly.

Tapani1600d ago (Edited 1600d ago )

You are absolutely correct. This is one title, and 5700xt matches the PS5 performance here, especially in OC. Interestingly the teraflops match as well, as PS5 won't be constantly at 10flops and 5700xt hits that 9.75flops all the time, or more if OC'd.

Babadook71600d ago (Edited 1600d ago )

Ps5 is well ahead of the 2080TI in places and therefore a 3060TI as well. Face it the ps5 does mighty impressive here.

RaidenBlack1599d ago

@Babadook7

2080Ti? Are you nuts?
I urge you to do little bit of googling regarding that card. And the Differences between 2070, 2070 Super, 2080, 2080 Super and finally the 2080Ti.

King_Noctis1599d ago (Edited 1599d ago )

3060Ti does not only match the PS5, it will exceed it. Based on the result it seem an RTX 2070 will be enough to match the PS5.

“ Ps5 is well ahead of the 2080TI in places and therefore a 3060TI as well. Face it the ps5 does mighty impressive here.”

You can’t be serious right? TFLOPs alone the 2080ti is higher than the PS5, and we still haven’t even talked about things like Ray tracing cores yet. At this point why not go all the way and say the PS5 is as powerful as the RTX 3070?

Father__Merrin1600d ago

Wow a console that costs £359 performs better? Of course if you buy an i9 and a 3090 you will brute force your way through but is it worth it any more if you want to play a game.

And to think going forward all the new IP and existing franchises like God of war etc I can confidently say God of war Ragnarok will have best visuals on any platform

RazzerRedux1600d ago (Edited 1600d ago )

" Of course if you buy an i9 and a 3090 you will brute force your way through but is it worth it any more if you want to play a game."

DF says PS5 runs equivalent to an RTX 2080 in this game. A RTX 3060ti would more than suffice.

Babadook71600d ago

I don’t think a 3060TI would suffice. Would need a 3070.

RazzerRedux1600d ago (Edited 1600d ago )

DF says a 3060ti is superior to RTX 2080 Super. DF says this game runs similar to a RTX 2080.

Pretty sure 3060ti will do fine.

Ju1598d ago

Why would you get a 3060 if you can get the whole thing for $400 which does the same? Sure if you already have a PC. But even then, the reason to upgrade would be go beyond a PS5. Otherwise, what's the point? Just get a PS5. Really PS5 for those games, and something at a >3070/6800 for a PC makes sense. Also a 3060 most likely would hardly go beyond 4k@60Hz, one reason to game on a PC is going beyond those 60fps.

Destiny10801600d ago

performing like a 2080 right out the gate, and that terrain quality

Assassin’s Creeds' Cutscenes And Voicelines Have Digressed Over Time

Assassin’s Creed has always been a staple for good cutscenes that engage the audience. However, it's grown lacking of the latter now.

Chocoburger273d ago

The story was at its most interesting early in the series, but has eventually ended up spinning its wheels going nowhere. The games don't feel linked together anymore. This is to make it easier to constantly churn out endless sequels.

gold_drake271d ago

absolutely agree.

it was so interesting and then ..

montebristo271d ago

The smaller more intimate maps and historic references are lost. The setting used to be a character in AC. Now it’s just a massive empty shell of its former self.

Almost every Assassin's Creed game is $12 or less — get them cheap

There's never been a better time to get into Assassin's Creed thanks to these deals.

Im so behind on AC. I gotta start up Brotherhood 😄

anast280d ago

I got Odyssey and Mirage to play still.

CobraKai280d ago (Edited 280d ago )

Ha. At least youre in the more current side of AC.

The_Hooligan279d ago

Last one i played was origin. I am also behind on AC games.

anast279d ago

@Cobra

The older ones are kind of a chore. I did enjoy Syndicate and Unity, though.

@Hoologan

I had a good time with Origins for the most part.

anast280d ago (Edited 280d ago )

If they are all Gold versions, it's definitely worth it.

Chocoburger279d ago (Edited 279d ago )

Waste of money, after the Desmond story arch, but even worse is that its a waste of time. The franchise is just spinning its wheels going nowhere. The further you progress through the series, the more 'corporate' it begins to feel, until its nothing but an empty husk, begging for you to spend money on its micro-trash-action store. There are loading screens in Origins informing you that if you spend money on "fun costumes" you'll feel better! Despicable.

Save your time for something better. Modern day Ubisoft is garbage.

MeatyUrologist279d ago

To each their own I guess? I really enjoyed them up until odyssey and valhalla was decent. I still really enjoy exploring the massive detailed worlds and the characters, stories, gear, and combat.

I have never once been swayed by a loading screen trying to get me to buy DLC as these games have 10x more content than you would ever see anyway. I do agree the series seems to be going the wrong direction at the moment, but would still highly recommend origins, odyssey, and to a lesser extent, valhalla if you enjoy adventure and exploration games.

gold_drake279d ago

not every AC game is worth playing tho ha.

i feel like it stopped being good after 3. and 3 was even a stretch.

1 and 2 tho? amazing.

Modern Games Are Getting Too Long

While there’s a lot to love about modern video games, there is one trend — particularly in the AAA space — that tends to grate: their length.

Games are coming out with too much fluff and side activities that are horribly dull. That's my main issue with all these open world games. Open world should be about exploration, discovery and wonder, not have some stupid 10s or 100s of boring activities spread throughout.

IAMRealHooman391d ago

100% agree
All these ubisoft titles, Farcry, AC, Ghost recon, boast huge maps, but with the same, 3 missions or the same base to clear 100s of times. Hour 1 of any of those titles is the same as hour 100, there big for the sake of being big, with the illusion of player freedom, where we really want depth and player expression.

Ninver390d ago

Give me a solid 15-20 hour engaging single player driven IP any day. Life's too short you dig.

isarai391d ago

I stopped buying overfluffed games like a decade ago. Cant stand games with the Ubisoft mindset of just filling maps with uselss collectibles and fodder. Make it mean something. Ill gladly take 1/4 size of the map and 1/10th the "content" if it all meant more, were more unique and greater affect on your progression.

Abnor_Mal391d ago (Edited 391d ago )

Well people complained like the world was ending when a few games were six to ten hours of gameplay. Developers listened and started making longer games full of repetitive gameplay, time wasting fetch quest and other forms of bloat. In doing so they were able to justify the high cost of a game being sold to the customers at seventy dollars or more.

H9391d ago

Filler, it's like a 80 episodes show where only the first and last episodes actually matter

Inverno391d ago

It's been a problem with pretty much every modern AAA game all through last gen and this gen. God forbid you point it out tho because all these big games are masterpieces and people lose their minds if you criticize them. Death Stranding is a fetch quest fest, but people will die defending it cause it's a "masterpiece".
