The Wii U GamePad is often mocked, but it has many intrinsic strengths that have gone overlooked. Here's why the GamePad is better than many think.
The Wii U Gamepad was and still is FANTASTIC! So many games were made BETTER because of it! Xenoblade Chronicles X, WindWaker, Mass Effect, and so many more benefited from the Gamepad! Haters are going to hate!
I agree. Love my Wii U. The only downside is that It was heavily underpowered.
Makes the games far better.. Just compare splatoon 1 to 2. Second is laughable.. Feels like it's running on inferior hardware. Can't click on my team mate and jump, you need to pause the game..
I also agree with you so many game are better to this..
Yeah im'a pass thanks
The Dualsense has lot of gimmick and people like it. So what’s wrong with the Wii U gamepad and all its gimmick?
Comparing basic controller to a Tablet is somewhat unrealistic. Dualsense is the evolution of Dualshock 4, while Gamepad, is really applying 3ds second screen on larger scale, much larger.
Did you just compare a controller to a tablet?! You're being ridiculous as always *rolleyes*. And why bring up the Dualsense into this? Triggered much?
“ Did you just compare a controller to a tablet?!” Wait a minute, Can this so-called “tablet” operate independently without a Wii U? If not, then is it a controller or a tablet? “ And why bring up the Dualsense into this? Triggered much?” ....triggered by what? Am I not allowed to point out fact? I think you are the one who is “triggered” by my comment.
@King_Noctis The problem is that the Gamepad cost over double the price of the Wii U Pro controller and you couldn't use more than one per console. Does the Dualsense have either of those problems? Controller gimmicks fall into 2 categories - useless but mostly harmless like the Dualshock 4 trackpad and completely detrimental to the success of a console like the Wii U's Gamepad. Not even Nintendo fans were willing to shell out for the gimmicky Wii U controller (unless you think there are only 12 million Nintendo fans in the world).
The wiiu gamepad was massive. That's the only reason I don't like it and the touchscreen was resistive. It was more like a prototype for the real thing. They should have made the switch with the same capabilities as wiiu when docked.
I loved the Wii U. I hate that it didn't do as well as it should have. I still have mine.
Sadly not many games utilized the gamepad.
The Gamepad was an interesting concept that Nintendo themselves didn't even care to develop for. The thing that makes it a complete failure though is that the Gamepad is required in order for a Wii U to even function. Once your Gamepad dies, the console is useless and since they were never sold separately outside of Japan the total amount of working Wii U's are tied to the amount of working Gamepads. The Gamepad was the best in third party games like Dues Ex: Human Revolution (where you can compare it to traditional controllers) but since the WiiU was so underpowered we were limited to just a few ports of previous generation games.
