Gran Turismo 7 PSVR2 + Logitech G923 review: the ultimate Gran Turismo set-up

Like some of the flashier, more mechanical, arcade cabinets of old, the thrill leaves you slightly breathless. You do eventually get used it, but it remains significantly more exhilarating than anything possible with a TV and controller, and the additional refinement in the way you handle your car over the game’s more intricate courses is something that would be impossible without the extra hardware.

Good effort, but attaching the wheel to a glass table doesn't seem like the smartest thing to do.

Metro are just showing their ignorance, as usual. It's nice that they're enjoying PSVR2 and GT7, but to suggest that's the ultimate set up is way off the mark. G29 is a fine wheel to start with and see if you want to upgrade after that, but it's notchy/lumpy as hell and has a slightly limited range of turning, so trucks, buses and rally races might be an issue. A better starter would be a thrustmaster T150 in my opinion. I have the T300 RS (secondhand) and it's great.

The ultimate set up for me, personally would be a Yaw 2 simulator chair with a Fanatec direct drive wheel, shifter and 3 pedal set up, but you're looking a a fair whack of cash and you'd need to be sure you were going to use it plenty!

Yeah, I'd like a Fanatec DD wheel but I'd have to replace my Playseat rig because it isn't rigid enough to cope with the force. I can't justify a new wheel and rig.

I should be picking up the T150 tonight. Can't wait to try it.

^ enjoy darth!

Make sure to update the firmware and play with the settings on a PC. You can tweak to some degree in the GT7 settings too.

pretty cool. i've been playing gt7 for the last week w/ psvr2 and the logitech g29 setup on a weighted wheel stand. works pretty well and is a good experience.

Two different wheels again? Ffs just make one wheel that works with both.

WHAT? hopefully they are not pushing Sony to discontinue support for the G29 with the introduction of this new wheel. no way in hell I'm buying another. the G25 and G29 are enough investment already

Which existing PS4 peripherals/accessories will work on PS5?

Specialty peripherals, such as officially licensed racing wheels, arcade sticks, and flight sticks, will work with PS5 games and supported PS4 games.

I didn't play any racing games in PS4 because they didn't support the G25. No way i'm buying a new wheel each gen...screw them!

badz1491730d ago

I caved in with the G29 as I was planning to play Driveclub, Dirt Rally and GT Sports with it. kinda scummy what they did with the G25. still use it to play GT6 on the PS3 from time to time but yeah...not gonna buy another one, ESPECIALLY something that is hardly an improvement like this one over here.

May just buy a Fanatec as will be compatible with ps5 and new xbox

Abriael1731d ago

Fanatecs are way better anyway.

Iceball20001731d ago

I’m done with Logitech wheels now this is just stupid.

Sgt_Slaughter1731d ago

I remember back in the PS2/3 era when wheels were forward compatible, not like the PS4/5 era where they force you to buy $250+ wheels every few years to use on new hardware. Sure there's workarounds through third party dongles but that shouldn't need to happen. My Driving Force GT has more than enough buttons to work now yet they locked it out by not making it compatible.
