Today South Korean game developer Shift Up released new screenshots and a gameplay trailer of its upcoming game code-named "Project EVE."
Eve meets her comrades on a desolated earth and takes up on a battle for humanity.
Holy crap, this game... I've loved it since they first revealed it last year I think, at one of the Playstation shows. I thought back then it stole the show. And now come to find out it's PS5 console exclusive.
I'm not exactly sure what to compare it to. Some say Devil May Cry or Bayonetta, but it looks light years better than that. I mean Bayonetta? Come on... It's an action game but I don't know... It has a lot of futuristic fantasy vibes going for it, like an industrial apocalypse of some kind. I don't even know how to describe it but I just love the setting and atmosphere, some of the music is also dramatic. I has me thinking way more than just an action beat 'em up game. I'm getting even Final Fantasy or NieR Automata type vibes from it. Or Code Vain but with way better graphics.
This game just keeps stealing the show for me. God of War probably stole the show for most people, I mean it's God of War, but personally I really love how this game is looking.
Overall it was a good show, short but it had some interesting new IP's. A lot of Japanese type games, and I'm not talking the usual little JRPG anime stuff, they had some AAA stuff with Japanese influence. Like this Stellar Blade game for one, I just don't know what to compare it to, there just isn't a lot of games like this.
Cant get bayonetta on ps so we get a better looking game with a female lead on ps
Looks like every korean action mmo to me, but i play those games a lot. They always have a flare like this. Blade and soul being the first thing to come to mind.

This was one of the best looking games at the PlayStation Showcase for me. Reminded me of Bayonetta and Ninja Gaiden.

@UltraNova That kinda thing seems to be becoming less popular. Seems like people are realizing that it turns people off and backing away from those sorts of narratives, thankfully.

I see everyone mentioning Bayonetta and other games, which I definitely can see of course.
Yet I'm surprised no one mention Vanquish, like when she was going through the green and orange tunnel sequence.
Astral Chain too. That starts with a shoot em up bike scene. I probably thought of that first as it's been so dam long since i last played Vanquished. But as Chevalier said, same developer. It simply looks like a badass game that Platinum would make and it certainly appears to use their formula.
This game was one of the highlights for me. Definitely looking forward to seeing more, getting a date and my hands on it. Just hope they deliver.
I started screaming thinking somehow we were getting bayonetta outside of the Nintendo switch lol but the game looks good, definitely keeping an eye on this one.

This game was severely overlooked at the showcase for obvious reasons but I loved it, looks bloody fantastic and will be a day one eventually.
I'm not even interested in any of those big titles though.. But this definitely caught my eye!

I thought it was a Platinum Games title. I mean, it looked like a Bayonetta spin-off or something, which is good, I think.
Tbh, not a bad thing, but I immediately knew it was a Korean game and not platinum, but likely a dev that is looking to games like Nier Automata, Bayonetta and Devil May Cry as inspirations. Something about the styling is extremely Korean about it. Maybe the character design. Maybe the glossy look and lighting style. Maybe the colour choices etc. Don't know, but it definitely didn't feel like a platinum games title from watching, but something inspired for sure
Cant wait to play it, the industry is sorely lacking classic arcade style hack&slash games these days.
Bayonetta 3 hasn't provided many updates, so the newly updated action game Project Eve has an opportunity to steal a bit of its thunder.
Its basically Bayonetta with the sex appeal of the first game anyway. Guess Platinum had to tone down that a lot because Nintendo.
I don't think Nintendo asked Platinum to tone down anything. In fact, Nintendo asked them to increase the sex appeal of their Nintendo character costumes and they even partnered with Playboy to market the game.

Instantly reminded me of Bayonetta. Bayo 3 is going to look much worse than this game given the low resolution hardware it is saddled to.
...looking forward to this game!! I'm already impressed with the gameplay reveal, just hoping that the story is also good.
