I picked one up because I heard Oculus is getting a bunch of exclusive content and in that leaked memo from Capcom there was that Resident Evil 4 VR project. For context I’m coming from the PSVR and I am blown away at how clear the visuals are in this. Plus, it’s hassle free without all the wires and having to set up that pass through box like for PSVR. If you’re a fan of VR or just interested in it, honestly, this is a really good product to buy. I’ve only played the Star Wars game and Rez Infinite on it but, damn, the immersion is real. VR is just awesome!

@crimson oculus requires a facebook account for games to work. so good luck as long as you plan to be tracked during your ownership of one.

I see your point but I don’t care. It’s a once sign in through the account and then I’m gaming. I’m pretty sure nothing crazy is going to happen like a Snowden situation. They can do whatever Facebook does and I’m pretty sure I’ll live a normal life, I mean...YOLO?

I’m asking this seriously and not sarcastically, but what is the worst case scenario Facebook can do to me because I signed in on a Facebook account? Knowing my location and what I do on the device? I’ll entertain them the best I can, I guess.

Have a question for you. Have you tried Beat Saber/Oculus Link on it?

I own PSVR and an original Rift. I had actually picked up a 1st gen Quest to try out Oculus Link to see how well it worked - if it worked well enough, I'd have sold my OG Rift and kept the Quest for standalone with the option of tethered to PC. I found it worked really well for almost everything...except Beat Saber. I play on Expert+ and I found the tracking just couldn't keep up through Oculus Link, which bummed me out.

I was curious if you've tried Beat Saber on the new unit or if you've tried Oculus Link yet. I'd really love to have one unit that does standalone and tethered but, since I play Beat Saber most of everything, performance has to be up to snuff. Was hoping with some tweaks to the Quest 2 that they perhaps managed to improve fast movement of Touch controllers. Any thoughts?

I haven’t. I’ve only played Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge and Rez Infinite. Then I watched YouTube and a few travel specials. As far as my experience has been there has NOT been any issues with tracking. I’ll need to grab bear saber at some point.

@instantstupor
They didn't improve on the tracking delay through link, sadly.
BUT, beat saber for the quest now supports mod for custom songs, so you could just play natively, which is just as good
