Watch Dogs Legion on Xbox One and Xbox Series has a major issue with progress not saving and according to Ubisoft, it won't be fixed anytime soon.
Its on all systems as far as I'm aware, I have the save bug on PC. The auto save saves out of sequence, mixes up the temp save file then writes it to the main save file corrupting it, it could happen after an hour of play or after 80 hours. this guy from the ubi forums breaks it down and shows how the game destroys itself. link: https://forums.ubisoft.com/... Edit: Looking at the forums the ps4 & ps5 seem to not suffer from this... my bad
It's starting to feel a little bit like, with Xbox trying to move ever closer to all things PC, they might be inheriting the common PC day one issues too. The devs, in an interview, praised their 'Xbox Development Manager' who worked alongside them to deliver the best experience they could on the new Xboxes. They also pulled an all-nighter to make sure they were happy with the Series X version specifically (as was confirmed on a video), the very night before launch. In the same video they claimed there was no issue with tools or time scales. Xbox were obviously tickled pink by the devs achievements, as they gave it the 'Optimized for Series X' stamp of approval and listed Dirt 5 under that section on the Xbox website. Here's Xbox's explanation as to what that means: "The Optimized for Xbox Series X|S icon means the developer has done the extra work to take full advantage of the unique capabilities of Xbox Series X|S. Games featuring the Optimized for Xbox Series X|S icon will showcase unparalleled load-times, heightened visuals, and steadier framerates at up to 120FPS." Something is off and we need to stop with the 'dev tools' excuses, as debunked by the Dirt 5 devs. Microsoft held their hands on this one and we still ended up with a mess that works fine on PS5. The fact they held off for so long before showing ANY Series X footage of games is starting to become clear - they've obviously got pretty big problems here. Add to that the first game they were confident enough to show that was confirmed to be on Series X hardware was...Dirt 5! and the mind boggles as to what's going on right now with other games in development.
This issue is 100% Ubisoft, the problem is the way the auto save works (or doesn't). They screwed up on a very basic level and is shocking they even released it because there is no way this wouldn't of shown up in testing. I have this same issue on PC If you click on the link in my comment above you can see in pictures and read the breakdown on how the save file corrupts, like I said the issue is so basic it's almost unbelievable that Ubisoft didn't know before release
Don't get me wrong, I can accept dev/quality control issues happen (don't even get me started on Ubisoft lol), but again, if you check the Xbox website, you'll see Watch Dogs Legion proudly listed under 'Optimized for Series X'. This makes it a shared responsibility in my view. Less marketing blurb, more testing, or your seal of approval means nothing. We're already seeing that this is the case.
I haven't had the issue on the PC yet but thanks for heads up. I just made a backup copy of my game save folder.
Don't be shocked that Ubisoft knowingly rushed out a broken game prior to Black Friday. That has been their M.O. for over a decade now.

Sully is just a fanboy his input on anything isn't really relevant or worthwhile.
Wouldn’t be a Ubisoft game without bugs
Headline is misleading. Ubisoft is working on a patch for it that they plan to have out in early Dec.
They've been working on it since release, the last patch was meant to fix this.
Too bad you cant hack the game and fix the bug.
Changed it around, this game won't be purchased any time soon.
