Borderlands 3 Next-Level Edition PS5 Impressions - The Koalition

Adam Vale of The Koalition writes: There is no denying it. The Borderlands franchise is one of the all-time greats. The stylish art design, humorous storytelling, and frantic fast-paced gunplay are just a few reasons we have all spent countless hours exploring Pandora for what appears to be an endless amount of loot. Another reason fans stay engaged is due to Gearbox’s never-ending support for these titles.

An awesome upgrade for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S that is worth every penny.

“Overall playing Borderlands 3 Next-Level Edition running at 4K 60fps with the haptic controller (the hype is real) is one hell of an enjoyable experience.“

Sounds great. Might have to pick it up down the road.

"This controller is an absolute game-changer for FPS titles. Every weapon actually feels different."
I haven't played BL3, but playing COD CW with the DualSense is really amazing. I don't know if/when I'll get used to it, but every kill just feels more satisfying. It's going to be a tough decision when i get my PC graphics card when i have to choose between better graphics vs. playing a game designed to use this controller

I tested it on the series x for a bit, it is buttery smooth!

Xbox controllers don't have haptic

Borderline unplayable split screen last gen, how is it now?

badz149210d ago

how does this work? what if I have the disc version, do I get the free upgrade to PS5 too?

NEXUS-6210d ago

Put the disc in, go to the game pages and see. Personally can't see why not.

badz149210d ago

don't have a PS5 yet. missed the pre-order day because I was in self-quarantine and was told to wait for next year. so...

LucasRuinedChildhood210d ago (Edited 210d ago )

Yeah, it works just like the other games that let you upgrade for free when you put in a disk. You'll need to go into the "game pages" as NEXUS-6 puts it (not sure what I'd call it) to change it to the PS5 version though. That's it.

that"s pretty nice. thanks captains

I was a huge borderlands fans loved 1(still my favorite because there was gradual improvements with dlc) 2 was great I bought multiple collecters editions and than rebought all games when they became available on ps4

But borderlands 3 just didn't click with me and I hate that because of how much I liked this series. This felt like borderlands 2.5 and it launched with so many bugs and glitches(some of which still haven't been fixed) gearbox should have done a much better job and I don't understand why they let go of the writers who helped with borderlands 2. Randy's ego is the biggest issue with this studio and this IP

Damn if only it were split analog sticks then it’d be the perfect standard next controller

cooperdnizzle210d ago

Dude split analogs make no sense what so ever. I have both consoles and I’m forced to play with split analogs and it’s the worsts..

We are symmetrical Human beings! Having them off set doesn’t feel right at all. I have never understood why people prefer it overt the right way. Not to mention Xbox doesn’t even have a dpad. Whatever ya want to call that thing but it’s not a dpad lol. To each their own I guess.

Evan_Beezy210d ago

Oh yea umm that’s a d-pad. And i think it’s because the left stick is meant for forward and backward movement (primarily forward) so the way it positions your hand at rest it’s very easy to effortlessly push your thumb forward without stretching your thumb. The other hand is mostly for moving side to side and the more placement of your hand in the more open position makes it easier to move your thumb like that. But maybe it’d better if both sticks rested higher up on the controller (right still a little lower) instead of just on one side like Xbox. But both being low with your thumb in the wide position is just the worst it’s the worst of both worlds. But yea it’s just simple ergonomics.
