Got mines in the final hours of Walmart at 9pm . Felt extremely lucky considering I tried at noon, 3 and 6, and each time 5 within five minutes it was sold out. However, Walmart kept the system in my basket, and at 9pm I kept spamming the check out, and got through. Happy for all that was able to get one 🙏🏽

or still striking out and not having any idea when you might actually get an order in. I slept about 2.5 hours last night [rather this morning] and struck out, yet again. Twice online today already. I'm guessing by days end I'll still not have an order placed. A total of at least 4 rejections online. Before bed I figured I'd check Meijer but they weren't even allocated any. Online struck out at 12 and 3. Got through most of checkout at 12 but not far enough. At 3 even though it was in my cart already I got 7 minutes of loading followed by an out of stock. I'm starting to think I'd have better luck asking a model to F me.

And Gamestop, F them. I probably could've ordered from them last night since they seemed to be in stock for about 40-50 minutes but there was no way I'm paying $800 for their bundle to get NBA 2k ($100 edition). I would've ate the extra controller and extra $20 for the $70 version Miles Morales along with PS+ for $60 but not NBA 2k. I'm disappointed and hyped but I simply can't afford to buy a garbage package like that. Hope Sony doesn't give them a single console the rest of this year.

This morning when orders opened up again I saw estimated ship dates between the 16th to the 18th. Though they sold out quick again so if you missed it you may be waiting a while

The kick in the pants is a buddy of mine managed to snag one via Amazon this afternoon, yet his is arriving on Saturday this weekend while I pre-ordered mine two months ago, and I'm not scheduled to get it until *next* weekend.

What’s irritating is they lost my controller that shipped earlier so I had to file a claim with Sony. Thankfully I picked another one up from target without an issue but I’m still dealing with it. FedEx has been the absolute worst and they just did that to my friend as well. They said that they tried to drop it off today but never left a door tag so he called and he’s having them come back later tonight. Dude was sitting at home waiting. I swear FedEx is becoming the delivery service of the century. 🤦‍♂️

FedEx is, they usually do this when the guy who's working doesn't want to drive to my town, and it's not like I live in the middle of nowhere. I've complained about it before to them and usually just ship later in the day.

I had that happen as well, Fedex had a "shipping exception" and the bulk truck arrived after the delivery drivers left on their routes for the day, But, right at the eleventh hour they dropped it off at around 6:30pm saving face. I was almost disappointed....

Yeah, getting a console is going to be a crapshoot until supply matches demand better. As of now, it's just every console launch ever where numbers are limited and half the available units just go to people trying to make a profit.

I got through last night on Walmart. Used the app, had the console in my basket, and just spammed the heck out of checkout and luckily, got a shipping confirm . While I agree it’s damn near impossible. The minute the clock is on, the websites and even the app, just Crashes n burns. It’s really difficult, but hey, it’s still a small chance of success. Only thing that sucks is it says it won’t be delivered till the 27th :-/

I was one of the users telling persons on this site that it will be impossible to get one this year if it was not pre ordered but I was wrong. I was able to order one from sony direct earlier this morning and all I want to say is that don't lose hope. The trick is to follow the right persons on youtube. There are persons that live stream when these deals go live and you should also follow the right persons on twitter also. You can even use google to help you find when the sales are going live since many gaming news sites are watching closely.

I keep refreshing and boom sold out.

You’ll get one, best bet is to try find someone willing to take orders on first come first served basis and just get in a queue it’s surprising how fast you can be at the top with cancellations etc plus stock will start being replaced every other week soon enough hopefully. Best of luck.

Yes that may be true regarding the production rates but package delivery companies stated they are prioritizing certain deliveries these days thus causing delays for non-essential things like games and toys.

You release a really limited supply, Resellers buy up and make more money than you, and then you punish those further that live in small towns or cities where there's no available stock or where nobody wins contests that all go to the major cities: Los Angela's, Chicago, New York, Miami, and San Francisco. No wonder, eh? I hate crap like this. SEGA was always about affordablity and availability, that's why I miss SEGA.
