PS5 Will Automatically Skip Studio Logos At Boot After Viewing Them Once

PS5 has a hidden secret feature that allows skipping logos after viewing them once when playing a game. It retains these settings even on a new save file.

Now THAT is good.

Once you've seen them, you know who's behind the game and it's even on the box art so there's no point with these long ass intros all the time.

Not to mention if you are a hardcore gamer who knows the industry and the like then you've probably been keeping up with the game, watching developer interviews, gameplay videos, reading the studio dev blogs, so on.

SullysCigar1665d ago

I LOVE this!

Every time I boot up TW3 on PS4 I mash to get me past much that crap. Some games don't let you do it at all which always irritates!

badz1491665d ago

"that crap"? you mean the developer's name is crap?

bouzebbal1665d ago (Edited 1665d ago )

Yes, this was something Shadow Fall did and really impressed me.. The game started so fast too.

badz,
No, but some games really exaggerate the intro screens. A way would be to make them skippable after 1st time boot, or add option in the settings to customize it as you want and skip them altogether.

I remember for the longest time Crash NSane Trilogy would take like three minutes to get through all of the splash screens. It was sooooo annoying

frostypants1664d ago

@badz149, yes, after a while it is crap. We know who made the game. Imagine if every time you turned on your car you had to wait 15 seconds while it told you it was made by Honda.

It's a cool feature for sure. It's clear that speed was a priority for Sony this generation.

Muzikguy1665d ago

I guess it's a cool feature. I still can't delete parts of Warzone that people claim to be able to. Personally I don't mind studio logos. Then again if I'm playing something it's most often suspended so I don't see them anyway (don't play online much)

GamerRN1665d ago

I wonder what developers think of this...

RedDevils1665d ago

Are you referring to 2k games?

Silly gameAr1665d ago

They probably don't care much due to the fact that someone is playing their game.

GamerRN1665d ago (Edited 1665d ago )

I just arrived if they care that their name recognition gets diminished. They take pride in their games, I'm curious if they can or will prevent this...

Then again now that I think of it, it's basically the same as quick resume...

MajorLazer1665d ago

This is an amazing feature 😍😍 Now to just click a game and be at the menu in a few secs.

gamer78041664d ago

i can kinda see it both ways having family from the industry. You put your blood sweat and tears into a game working 80 hour work weeks for months at a time, it would be nice to have your logo be seen even if for 3 seconds when your game launches.

frostypants1664d ago (Edited 1664d ago )

I never thought I'd see the day...one of my biggest pet peeves as a lifelong gamer has finally been addressed?

I LOVE the very few instances where games do this. It's such a waste of time

Eonjay1665d ago

Some games probably hide loading behind these logos. With the PS5 loading whole open world games in 1 second, its no longer necessary.

Teflon021665d ago

On ps4 I was disappointed Killzone was pretty much the only game to do this.i think if a studio wants to put their name in your face. Do it in the story mode intro for a new game and credits, that's it. Keep it short even if it's just 1 screen of logos and it shows the publisher, devs and that's it. Put things like licenses on the title screen and that's it.

Such a great change

S2Killinit1665d ago

I donno I love seeing that Naughty Dog logo

StoneyYoshi1665d ago

yeah there's something about it...

ActualWhiteMan1665d ago

Its a reminder that you are about to play a bad ass quality game.

Activision says gross Call of Duty loadout screen ads were only a test that was added “in error”

Call of Duty added in-game ads to the Black Ops 6 loadout screen, but Activision is claiming the gross update was added by mistake.

-Foxtrot1d 1h ago

Didn’t Ubisoft use this excuse a while back when they did something similar?

Christopher1d 1h ago

It's amazing how many companies are open with their inability to properly manage software releases while at the same time revealing they have designs developed and ready for full release to do things they know will annoy gamers.

Tacoboto22h ago

Microsoft has certainly used that excuse in at least 2-3 Windows updates over the recent years over ads in the Start Menu or something like that

isarai22h ago

🤣 bro how many times are we gonna hear this excuse just for it to show up again later

gold_drake21h ago

"oh so sooowy, we wanted to do iiit, but obviously not launch it yet, so its totally not our fault, it was fully functional tho lolzzzz"

Neonridr2h ago

I'm sure these were only by "accident" after the uproar.
