i have a 2070 super, I'm planning to ride out the console gen on it at 2k or 1080p if i have to lower it. Buying a ps5 later on maybe when it's 300

I cannot go without KB & mouse for shooters now and some other types of games like management sims, plus the extra smoothness of high hz 1440p without having to cut back on the gfx if i want a super smooth 90 or 120+fps. Then there's other stuff you can run that you can't on consoles. Plus I'll want the sequel to Garry's mod called S&Box which should be really fun for multiplayer and seeing what kind of new game modes there will be.

Considering all Xbox games and Game Pass are on PC now.
I would buy a PS5 and get Game Pass for PC.

ah good old console vs pc article. Get what you want. Sony, Microsoft, Intel, AMD, Nvidia ain't your friend. They make a product and you, as a consumer, decide if that's worth your money. How you get your enjoyment is up to you.

Consoles are made for just gaming and entertainment that you can just pickup and play.
PCs are made for work, gaming, and entertainment but you'll have to work on it.

Get what you want. It's all the same toward the end. You spend your money to enjoy something you like.

The EB games said my PS5 preorder is part of the third shipment (launch day 1st, pre-xmas 2nd) which is due early next year, so I don't have a choice. Plus I already bought an RTX 3070 so there's that too.

Both for me, my 1080Ti is showing it's age and so isn't my i7-6700K. I also have 500-600 PC games so I am not just walking away from that. That said I still plan on buying a PS5 for the exclusives but everything else on PC.

I have both a PC and the PS4, and I plan on getting a PS5. The exclusive games are part of my reason, but the other reason is that the high-end graphics cards are getting CRAZY expensive, and PC requirements have blown up hard all of a sudden. My PC simply cannot run Cyberpunk 2077, and upgrading my card, RAM AND an SSD to be able to run it? I'd rather just buy the PS5 for a fraction of the price. Plus, we're already seeing free games on PS Plus for the PS5, and the backward compatibility ensures a built-in huge library from the get-go.

Definitely. I never even planned to move to pc gaming only, I just wanted to get a pc that was capable of doing it properly (my old one at the time was never really a gaming pc) Once I got my pc, I didn't play games on console anymore and ended up selling them all a few months later.

I couldn't go full pc with Sony exclusives like God of War and Bloodborne. But besides exclusives, I get pretty much everything else on PC

Umm. no lol. I'm just waiting to buy a 5900x + a 3070 or 3080, or maybe if nvidia does release a 3070 Super. It's just that all these parts are sold out and most likely will be going into Jan. I want to replace my 3700x + my 2070 Super, want to go beyond next gen haha. Plus all 400 series owners like me (x470) can just get a bios update come Jan, then install the new cpus. One more thing I cannot give up playiing on a 240hz GSYNC display, playing some games well into the 200 fps like Doom Eternal with max settings can't compare to 4k/60fps not gonna happen. Staying with 1080p and 240hz. When PC games run at 4k with the same fps as 1080p then it's time to upgrade. Always higher FPS (1080p max settings) over higher res with lower FPS.

I only spent $320.00 tax included for NVIDIA RTX 260. That's what I really needed to upgrade my PC. It was in 2017 that I built my PC ( in one of my comments, I messed up the dates it was 2009 that I turned an office pc into a gaming pc which led to a very expensive experience).

2017 is when I did a full upgrade for my gaming PC:

Intel i-5 7600k 3.8ghz quad core processor with 4 virtual cores. VR ready

8gb of DDR4 RAM

3TB Mechanical HDD
512gb SSD drive (to boot up gaming PC)

Thermal Tek RGB fully modular 750 80 Plus Gold Certified power supply

Gigabyte Z270X-Ultra gaming motherboard.

It was a major upgrade from my 2009 HP Pavilion Office PC turned gaming PC which cost me more than $1000 compared to $680.00 tax included for my 2017 gaming PC.

I am aware that it took me more than 5 years to fully upgrade my gaming PC. Roughly 9 years despite these awful PC parts

512gb HDD

Cooler Master RGB fully modular 80 plus Bronze Certified power supply which is one of the parts that I bought to make a gaming PC for the power supply of an office of is non certified and is only 250 watts

4gb DDR2 ram that's the same ram in the $750 HP Pavilion Office PC turn into gaming PC

Cooler Master gaming case for the HP Pavilion case was too small and would overheat due to gaming

NVIDIA GTX 480 that was what I replaced the HP Pavilion PC which had the NVIDIA GTX 450. Sadly the 480 GPU only lasted two years which I ended downgrading to its original NVIDIA GTX 450😭😭.

I ended up booking my gaming PC to the tv set after 4 years gaming on a monitor. A gaming PC is an oven. Had to turn the AC on just to play in the room. Always woke up sweaty for the PC would just heat up the room
I still managed to play games at native 1080p 40-50 frames per second in medium settings except Doom Remake, Ark Survival Evolved, obviously Crysis which were not playable. Metro 2044 ( I messed up didn't I) was playable at low settings native 1080p 25-30 frames per second. .....
