Watching comparison vids I really can't see much difference but I'll be trying it out for myself
You don't see the difference between 30fps and 60fps??
Exaclty. So much smoother wow!
Much better to experience when playing imo
Just finished my 1st play through and waiting for ng+ on the PS5. Definitely smoother on the 5. Them frames!
I'd imagine it would be difficult to see a major difference though this highly compressed internet video, I'm sure actaully playing it on PS5 would make it very noticeable.
The framerate is obvious, though.
It will make a big difference but I agree that you'll only really appreciate it playing it yourself than watching on YouTube.
I highly doubt they replaced all the assets with next gen features... you might get higher res shadows, maybe better global illumination, and faster frame rate, but I wouldn't expect much more beyond that. The game looks mind blowing as-is, though.
Really just the framerate(30 to 60) but that's a matter of preference. I don't think it was a smooth 30fps, IMO. Would be great to have native 4K, 30fps with added fidelity/graphical features. But it is an amazing looking game as is. There were some scenes that looked to be crisper/higher res on the PS5 side, but could be my mind playing tricks on me.
30fps is garbage, it's good that you're not getting it.
Depends on the game, sometimes it can take from the immersion. Bet you haven't seen too many 60FPS films and said it looks better than theatre(24fps).
Don't mind Felix, he's an eccentric person.
The only difference is the framerate.
Pretty outstanding difference considering how incredible the game already looked.
It's mainly the framerate, which is like night and day difference. I'm sure there are various graphical improvements, but probably not enough to be very noticeable in compressed internet video.
Really? There's a big difference between frame rate (you should be able to spot the frame rate). I can understand not spotting the extra detail since I assume we're not watching this video at 4k though (it looks subtle in this video).
It looks pretty much the same to me. I finished it on the original ps4 though so even the ps4 pro version would be an improvement for me. Best game I have played in years
The frame rate is the difference, and it's a big one.
Im looking forward to new game plus at 60 frames per second on the PS5. Im enjoying the legends mode and I rarely ever play the online elements to games
I cant wait to play this in 60fps again, top 3 of the generation for me
GoT really doesn't need any extra boost unless the tech is miles better, the load times for GoT was already insane
Doubling the framerate is pretty significant.
Smoother and better lighting is the main benefit I see. But that shouldn't be a surprise considering the power difference between the two consoles. Makes a great game even more enjoyable.
Framerate is a silky smooth 60 from the looks of it. It loaded fast in the first place so I’m sure that’s instant now.
Iv got the game but am waiting to play it on my ps5 :)
Do people really dont see how big the difference is between 30 and 60 fps? Tshushima looks so smooth on the ps5. Days Gone and Ghost of Tshushima on 60 fps. Im really goin for a new game+ playtrough on Ps5
Colors are dulled down on PS5 for some reason. Don't think it's emulation software because I'm pretty sure its running natively. And its not just this game. Spiderman was the same way in other comparison videos.
Look the same to me.
Gorgeous all around. Will be playing on PS5.
atleast they're not charging us full price again for the same game like last gen
Lol I purposely stopped playing just to beat it on the 5.
Seems to be just the frame rate that's changed. Not with 'Days Gone' though.. that now looks amazing.. Went from a slightly doggedy game to a must have in my opinion. It's free too. (On ps5)
Right off the bat 30 to 60 is very noticeable
The framerate on the ps5 is obviously better-- but is it just me or does the ps4 pro colour and contrast ratio look much better? PS5 just looks incredible flat and grey to me
Agreed. Something is really off with all of the back compat game color depth. The contrast is completely blown out.
As has been pointed out already the color looks washed out (not a good thing). The exact same wash out 'effect' can be seen with the new Spiderman remaster. They stated for that remaster they redid the lighting, but now seeing this pattern for both begs the question, what is going on? it is like some has the contrast completely blown out and it is killing the color depth. It looks too bright.
I'm a PlayStation fanboy, but even I can admit that.
Beautiful regardless both platforms. Smoother on ps5
30fps getting buried, I love to see it.
30fps is so stuttery in comparison. How were people able to stomach it?
Well, people don't even notice that almost all movies ever made are 24 fps. Including movies released this year. So people get used to it.
Not worth a 500 dollar upgrade. Fantastic game.
Yeah ummmmmm........ wow...... ummmmm....... does it load faster or something?
It's honestly pretty similar, although I did notice the difference between 30 FPS and 60 FPS during the battle. The framerate difference is only really noticeable during fast action sequences on the screen such as during combat and even then it isn't as pronounced as say in a FPS game.
60fps is so awesome
For this it's best to use the digital foundry videos.
PS5: -A bit brighter -Higher frame rate SMH
It almost looks like the PS5 version was recorded in HDR with that video incorrectly tonemapped to SDR. I didn't see the difference until it was side-by-side so maybe some of the video was recorded and or tonemapped properly with other parts looking a bit washed out. I've only seen SDR video in HDR content, but not the other way around.
Clearly I can tell the difference in FPS. The PS4 Pro is a bit jerky if you compare to the PS5 movements
ps5 is what ps4 pro should have been to begin with
