Here’s why you should only consider “early adopting” the Playstation 5 this fall

Being an early adopter on a console generation can pretty much define what you will play for the majority of the generation, however, this time around "exclusive content" and which console you currently have are deciding factors. If you own a Playstation the only logical choice if you are interested at all in early-adopting should be the Playstation 5

I'm getting a PS5 at launch and an Xbox Series X probably later down the line. Not sure when though, for now I'll stick with PS5.

MrGunny941267d ago

Nyxus, hello long time no see!

Glad to see you are fine, we had many chats in the previous year.

This article definitely explores the option where you hold out to get an Xbox later down the line due to a better bargain related to Gamepass and Xbox Live.

Early adopting is a dangerous game because we never know what might happen during this generation.

In the article, I delve deep on why the PS5 is in the best position to buy NOW instead of LATER.

darthv721267d ago

As someone who really likes new hardware... I have to have both. I'd be remiss if I didnt.

TheProblem1266d ago

It’s simply the better console. There is no reason to own any other this generation

Jericho13371266d ago

Trying to pass ones opinion as fact... sigh. People do have different tastes you know.

Shiken1266d ago (Edited 1266d ago )

The XSX is objectively better. More powerful, faster load times (confirmed by DF), BC across several generations, gamepass having the best value in gaming, and the best version of all multiplats.

If you wanna argue that based on the previous gen, PS has had better exclusives...I will give you that. But the XSX as a console is truly superior hardware overall, and you did not mention anything about the software.

gamer78041266d ago

It’s all subjective, unless you talk about which hardware is more powerful.

MrGunny941266d ago

It comes down to games and ecosystem at the end of the day

medman1266d ago

I don't know which console will be "better", but I know I prefer playstation exclusives. I have a ps5 I'll be picking up on the 12th from best buy and a series x I'm hoping amazon ships on time so I get it on the 10th. If I currently had an xbox one, I would not buy the series x simply because there are no new games for it, but having skipped the xbox this current gen gamepass is the real draw for me, and getting to play some of the games I missed out on, like Ori, Forza, Gears, Doom, Hellblade, etc etc on gamepass with better resolution and frame rates has me excited about the series x also.

If I had money for only one console, it would definitely be the ps5, but over the course of this upcoming generation there will definitely be games worth playing on xbox.

This article makes a lot of incorrect assumptions or statements. For one both consoles don’t really need to be bought as all of the real games can be bought on previous systems. Also we already have 3d audio, whether it’s Dolby atmos. Windows sonic, or dts3d. There is really no real reason to buy these consoles now. But it is fun to try out new tech and enjoy the latest console fidelity, that’s a good enough reason for me.

Gamist2dot01266d ago

Careful. You wait long enough, PS5 Pro and XSX Plus might release by then lol.

MrGunny941266d ago

I wouldn’t mind those by 2023 tbh

The main reason IMO is there are simply more games as far as new-games and exclusives go at launch.

IMO getting a PS5 next holiday (2021) is the best time for it, as by then Spider-Man, Demon's Souls, Ratchet and Clank, Gran Turismo, Horizon, God of War (side-eyeing you for early 2022), and possibly more are likely to all be released by then, and more Digital Only PS5 should be available if you want the cheaper console.

And IMO getting a Series X holiday 2022 is the best time for it as Halo, and hopefully more of their first-party games will be available since they can't release most of them until late 2021 due to using Unreal Engine 5.

MrGunny941267d ago

Yeah I agree! I honestly believe for the Xbox we should wait for the bargain deals.

RedDevils1266d ago

I agree. Cheaper everything.

hiawa231266d ago (Edited 1266d ago )

Getting Series X at launch, PS5 later. Series X is more of a Necessity for me.

NEXUS-61266d ago

Why? Clearly you're already part of the ecosystem, nothing will there that won't be on xbox one/x.

Seems you've got your consoles mixed up.

hiawa231266d ago (Edited 1266d ago )

I am apart of both ecosystems, but Series X is what I want now since most of my gaming is on that platform, and a huge backlog, plus 3 gens of back compat, plus X1 carry over makes Series X a must right now for me. Not sure how you can tell me what to be mixed up about, lol. I know what I want. PS4 Pro will do for my Sony games right now, so I am good with that as I am not really into Spiderman or Demon Souls.

SierraGuy1266d ago

What backlog? From the 360?

NEXUS-61266d ago

So many games mate - how do you find the time???

Seems you don't have enough time to play OLD games let alone new ones.

You can already do all those things on your current xbox - that's where the mix up is.

ms is lucky to have people like yourself, happily swimming in a cesspool of mediocrity.

MrGunny941266d ago

I’m doing the opposite got One X for gamepass and will grab PS5 on launch day

MrGunny941266d ago

It really depends on where your ecosystem lies and friends.. if you only played Xbox.. It's hard choice

MrGunny941266d ago

Yeah when you invest $$into a ecosystem it becomes hard to leave

GhostTurtle1266d ago

How the hell yall gonna down vote this man just for saying he's gonna get a PS5 later? I'm a PC guy but if I were to get a console it would be an X as well. PS5's UI looks atrocious and only being ps4 bc is a game breaker. Not to mention Xbox/PC compatible gamepass

Rimeskeem1266d ago

I hope to find myself with a PS5 this year. But geez it is not easy!

NEXUS-61266d ago

I'd be very, very surprised if their isn't another batch around Christmas.

To be safe - if I were you I'd put a little money down to secure one.

MrGunny941266d ago

In Europe we don’t have stock till next year in stores

Playstation Country - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade: Wrath of the Mutants – PS5 Review

Michael Kitchin writes, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade: Wrath of the Mutants does not breathe easy outside of an arcade setting. The short campaign loses any risk when you're given plentiful lives at the start of each stage. Whilst the new areas are welcome, they don't make the package feel any more complete. In the comforts of home, every imperfection comes into stark realisation. The slim presentation, the decent but ultimately safe combat and the overall small package makes this tough to recommend."
