MonsterVine: "The Last Blade: Beyond the Destiny is an especially interesting fighter that uses a plethora of unique characters, charmingly simple visuals, and tight gameplay to make a fun flashback of a fighting game."
CCG writes - "When I was younger, I often enjoyed Neo Geo fighting games. I had never played The Last Blade, but what I did see looked fun, and I always enjoyed its cousin, Samurai Shodown. Having purchased several Neo Geo collections, as well as a Neo Geo Mini, it turns out that I already owned some of the series, so after checking them out, I was excited to see what Beyond the Destiny was all about. Boy, was I in for a surprise."
Amano smokes and drinks alcohol as part of his win poses in the Neo Geo games.
Haven't played this version for a very long time so just assume it is the same.
Neo Geo has some amazing fighting games. I haven't seen the Neo Geo Pocket Color before, that's pretty neat for retro gamers.
KeenGamer: "This action packed fighter will surprise fighting game fans and retro fans alike. The Last Blade: Beyond the Destiny jumps from the year 2000 on the Neo Geo Pocket Color all the way to the year 2020 on Nintendo Switch. Originally only available on SNK's short lived handheld game console, Beyond the Destiny is a port of the arcade's The Last Blade and The Last Blade 2. This is an awesome fighter that deserves to be played."
In the 90s, The Last Blade: Beyond the Destiny was an amazing handheld edition of something you could only get in an arcade. Whilst this is an amazing port with great honor done to the original Neo Geo Pocket Color experience, it’s hard to recommend when the original arcade experience this was emulating twenty years ago is sitting right there on the eShop at the exact same price.
