Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition flaunts the ray tracing and 120fps on PS5 and XSX (TheSixthAxis)

TSA writes: We’ve been able to play and preview Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition over the last few days, and it gives us the first taste of what we can expect Capcom to achieve on next generation consoles. Naturally, as a Special Edition, there’s some added content here, from bringing Virgil into the game as a playable character to expand on the story, to the new Legendary Dark Knight difficulty and Bloody Palace challenge mode. However, some of the most interesting aspects are how Capcom are able to update their already outstanding RE Engine for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Software based ray tracing looks disgusting on this game

Darkwatchman1356d ago

They’re using the consoles’ hardware acceleration so it’s not software based. Gears 5’s Series X patch is using a form of ray tracing in screen space in the form of its new global illumination and THAT is being done in software, but this right here is being done in hardware

@ Darkwatchman

You're correct. DMC is using hardware based Ray-tracing. Also, the GW5 XSX footage using global illumination looks incredible. And it's a cheap way to better the scene.

i still can't preorder ps5 or xbox sx in UK.

raiden_1881356d ago

They have sold thier lot unfortunately. Unless cancellations happen I doubt there will be more in stock this year.

jukins1356d ago

There will definetly be more stock this year. It will be crazy hard to secure one but there will definetlt be more stock. Best buy will have some on black Friday. To think no retailer will get any for 5 weeks especially with holidays is a little crazy

Perfect for the person like me who wanted to play Back 4 Blood but didn’t want to pay Back 4 Blood

B4B is the definition of mediocrity. It feels like it should be good, but it's just...off somehow. Then you remember L4D/L4D2 and how much a remaster of that would be more fun. One day, please, Valve?

Dirty_Lemons558d ago

Sad though isn't it, it had all the genetic makeup needed to be L4D3 - but, as you said, something felt off. Plus I hated that card system. It overcomplicated a great formula.

yesss DMC 5 and DBZ fighterz, life is strange

its a very good line up not gonna lie

Exvalos558d ago

Those 3 games alone justify the price

gold_drake558d ago

monkey602559d ago
