I'm sticking with my 2070 super for the next 5 years. Plus I'm only going to be gaming at 2k resolution so some of these newer cards are a waste for my system.

edit: not to mention i don't have much choice when it comes to finding one of these when they hit stores. scalpers and everyone else wants one.

For the price it's not bad. A good midrange card. I went with the RTX 3080 though

Nope, even at 1440p the extra grunt and vram of the 3080 is better. Interested to see the cards AMD show off tomorrow, but i have a gsync screen

Neonridr1640d ago

the 3070 will be fine. I game at 1440p/120+ fps with my 1080ti and that's like 3 gens old now at this point (counting the 20xx Super series cards).

I don't think it would be a good upgrade from a 1080 TI you'd be better off going with a 3080

Neonridr1640d ago

@ARESWARLORD - oh for sure, I've ordered a 3080 for myself. I just meant if someone wanted to game at 1440p the 3070 would be fine.

Speaking as someone who uses xcloud, i havent really noticed much lag, if at all. I have used the service on a wide variety of devices. A VCR XBO, a One X, the logitech GCloud, steamdeck and my work PC. in all cases it just works and works really well. I was not interested at first in the idea of streaming a game, but then i really started using it as a way to gauge interest if a game is worth my time of downloading/installing and I just cant help but jump into new titles when they drop. I used to do the same with new releases on netflix so i can see why they make that similar proclimation.
