This honestly has to be the best decision they could have made with this game. Practically a F2P now as long as you have PS+

Jin_Sakai37d ago

Agreed. This game would’ve been a hard sell at $70. Sony likely saved this game. It might turn out to be great and do well after all.

StoneyYoshi37d ago

Yeah this could get as big as rocket league as long as they don't keep it at that $70 for too long for people who miss out on the PS+ offer.

VenomUK37d ago (Edited 37d ago )

It’s for the best. Come February almost all PS5 owners will give it a chance.

SullysCigar37d ago

A hard sell at $70 it may be, but I've been hankering for a fun mulitiplayer and just needed a little more information before going for this - I guess I just saved 70 bucks lol

Awesome news!

NeoGamer23237d ago

Ya, not sure why they just don't make it plus available as part of launch.... That would really seal its success probably.

But, February is good enough.

bouzebbal37d ago

Badass game!! Wanna try it so bad

Zeeb37d ago

They most likely have other things lined up for November through January.

I was starting to warm to it, but it is definitely a tough sell - this will ensure a large community day 1.

Now the game just needs to be good.

gamer780437d ago

I assumed it would be a budget title launching at 39.99 then dropping quickly after. I’m glad it’s on ps4 plus otherwise would have waited for a drop. Looks like crazy fun.

UltraNova37d ago

That's a smart move. This ensures massive exposure to the game.

Definitely the right move for this game. The €80 pricetag was crazy. Looks really fun though and it could be the first breakout game like Rocket League on PS5

RpgSama37d ago

Agree 100%, not only will this give them more time to polish the game, but a lot more people will be open to try it, at $70 on launch with all the other games launching in the holiday season, it would've been DOA.

Bigman4k37d ago

Yeah that was a smart move by sony

GamerRN37d ago

Honestly though, and I'm serious, this was my most looked forward to Next Gen launch game. Now I have nothing!

soggyfalcon37d ago

No one believes you.

GamerRN36d ago

That's ok... Because I know it's true. I love Rocket League, I love destruction derby games of the past. I was really psyched for this game.

Couldn't care less about Clank, not my kinda game. I already have Spiderman. This was my one game to purchase early on in PS5

IRetrouk37d ago

Unexpected, was one of the games I wanted to pick up, being on plus takes the sting away somewhat though.

crazyCoconuts37d ago

And improves it's chances of surviving. There will be a bigger pool of ppl with PS5 and... free!
There's no way I was going to pay more than $20 for it anyway

IRetrouk37d ago (Edited 37d ago )

It will deffo help with player numbers thats for sure, although I was happy enough paying for it, if I like a game I buy it, if I don't like the price I just wait a bit, all depends i suppose.

BigBosss37d ago

Love the idea that it is a free game for PS Plus members. Off to a great start with next gen PS plus games and plenty of more time to polish the game.

Storm2337d ago (Edited 37d ago )

I'm a little confused on the wording. "...where it will be included for two months in PlayStation Plus at no additional cost." Is it like all other Plus games where it is free forever if you download it during those two months or will it only be free for Plus members for those two months and then have to pay for it to keep playing? Obviously I'm hoping it is just F2P forever for Plus members who download it but I am not sure

Bennibop37d ago

It's not going f2p, it will be part of the plus monthly game lineup for 2 months. Will be back to full price afterwards.

SmokinAces37d ago

Think it just means it will be in the PS Plus line up of downloadable free games for February and March of next year.

Zeeb37d ago

That's actually awesome news and a smart decision for an online focused game after the success with things like Rocket League and Fall Guys ect.

I'll gladly wait a couple months to get a full priced game as a free bonus game on PS+. Honestly I probably would have waited longer for a price drop if I bought it at all.

So this is a huge plus for me.

AnotherGamer37d ago

Smart move honestly, it really didn't look like a 70 buck game.
