Cool. Not a fan of the Epic store, but happy to accept free games. Layers of Fear series is good, as was the original Costume Quest. Never played the second, so gives me something new to try.

Just waiting for LoF2 to hit Game Pass. I know that as soon as I buy it, it'll be on Game Pass five minutes later.

Every other week you get excellent free games. Next week it's. Blair witch & ghost busters remastered which I really wanted....in a few years EGS will definitely be a popular pc store front

It won't be popular if they don't start improving it. Epic's giving away free games, but they aren't making a dent on Steam. People are still playing their games on Steam any chance they can get.

The Epic Store has been around for a while now and they haven't improved one single thing about it. It's still clunky, it's still awkward to navigate, it still doesn't have forums, no achievements, it's ugly, their sales suck, they still have a limited pool of games, their features are still as barebones as it can get. Outside of the free games, there is zero reason to use it compared to the competition. Even the free games aren't getting me to use their store, I'm just collecting them without playing them. There is no incentive to play games on Epic's store compared to playing them on Steam.

I remember the articles and comments at the end of 2018, saying things like they would improve and the features will come, but here we are 2 years later and Epic have done nothing to improve anything.

The problem is users like you under any circumstances will never accept it, When achievements come you will say there's no forums, when forums come you will say it hasn't got this and that.

The store will improve they won't let it stay as it is its clear its under development theve the funds to develop it and I can't wait to see how it turns out.

The bottom line is EGS has been putting out great games for free and the sales have been excellent the £10 voucher off anything that's already on sale is a brilliant idea..

"The problem is users like you under any circumstances will never accept it"

I already accepted it long ago, they just haven't given me a reason to use it yet. Why bother when I have a much better experience on Steam? Say I get a game on Epic's store, what advantages am I getting if I buy it on their store compared to Steam? I can't think of a single one. Price? worse than Steam. Support? worse than Steam. Features (forums, achievements, etc) worse than Steam.

It's not my fault Epic can't get me to buy from their store, it's their fault.

"The store will improve they won't let it stay as it is its clear its under development theve the funds to develop it and I can't wait to see how it turns out"

When? They seem to have unlimited funds and in the past 2 years they have done absolutely nothing to improve it.

"The bottom line is EGS has been putting out great games for free and the sales have been excellent the £10 voucher off anything that's already on sale is a brilliant idea.."

The £10 voucher that only applies to games over £14.99........so you still need to spend at least £5 on their store on games that will go for cheaper on Steam.

You keep saying that, and then you just keep getting a comments section of people like me who say they only use the thing for free games.

It's almost 2 years old, and the thing is barely functional, and is a mess to navigate and use.
The only thing that will drive me to ever use their storefront for anything other than free games is actually bring it up to the standard set by virtually any other storefront, years ago, and stop with the timed exclusivity deals.
It's the timed exclusivity that's actually pushing people away.
Almost every storefront out there has unique aspects to them that make them worthwhile to use.
Epic's is simply use Fortnite money to be the single wrench thrown into the gears of the machine that is an otherwise free and open PC ecosystem.

Want to nab the gamers like me? Take that timed exclusivity money and use it to fund actual new games. Use it to help indie devs actually finish titles, and then act as their publisher and make it an actual Epic exclusive. That I could actually respect, but they've done that one whole time, from what I can remember. Instead they prefer to just headhunt popular titles and cage then off before launch, even if it means customers who actually backed said titles prior to that are negatively affected.

It doesn't help that they also act like the single pious beacon of the videogame industry, as they actively try to bend it to their will, hurting both consumers, and smaller devs, in the process. But hey, they give devs a larger cut, right? Sure; until that hypothetical day they grab the majority market share they're aiming for, and start focusing on their bottom line, as every giant corporation like this does. Let's be real here, Tencent owns a large chunk of this business. They are far from consumer friendly, and they've been sharking out the game's industry for years now.

Costume Quest 2 is pretty cool. I got the 100% on PS4 a few weeks ago.
