Looks like Cara Ellison has parted ways.
wtf is going on with this game!!!! was SOOO looking forward to it... now I dunno
Remember that Chris Avellone was heading the narrative side but was fired after sexual assault allegations. Also there is a pandemic, I'm sure its not easy for the team. Hopefully the game turns out to be high quality.
There've been a lot of red flags with this game.
I can imagine this all started to fall apart at the 2019 gameplay demos they showed. Those demos looked horrendous and they expected to release the game just 6 months later. Publisher probably told them to reboot development on key areas, because there was no fixing some of the things going on in that demo.
I'm interested in the game, but only mildly, even before all the weirdness post announcement. The original Bloodlines was amazing because just how much player agency within the world and its mission structure was had. Nothing much was shown indicating it would have near the same level of agency in the sequel. If that's the case, it's really just Bloodlines in name only.
The hell is been going on with the development of this game? Is like this series is cursed or something.
First, they removed Chris Avellone and his every contribution. Then, they shown that bad gameplay trailer (and it was pretty bad, let's be fair). Next, Mitsoda and Cluney were removed, for no reason. And they were there from the beginning, pitching the game to Paradox and Mitsoda was in charge of the narrative since the beginning. Now they removed Cara Ellison. Just... what a trainwreck, so much bad PR is so little time, before the game release.
I'm worried about this game. I hope it's good...
This game has always looked like a hot mess
