Would you like to see these Conker and Banjo-Kazooie return?
Double Fine would smash it!
That's... actually a great pairing. Tim Schafer could do great things with Conker.
Oooff, decent call! I'd hate to lose the distinctively British humour, but Schafer's got a great sense of it none-the-less. Can't imagine he'd ever be as vulgar and sexually suggestive but you never know, he could rise to the challenge haha
Conker maybe and banjo only if they don't sour the franchise again with crap like nuts and bolts....
I'd like to see both, Banjo as a family friendly game and Conker for adults. They shouldn't screw with the original formula too much though unless it makes sense and is fun.
I just played through both games recently on Gamepass through the rare collection. Both fantastic games, but both need some modern remedies. If they keep the charm and update the gameplay, I think it would be great. IMO Conker went downhill when you hit the prehistoric segment. Still one of the greats.
Tbh a banjo nuts and bolts would be an excellent creative game now making custom vehicles sharing them etc
Only if they go with the classic banjo look since the nuts and bolts one was just bad looking
Disagree. N&B should have been its own game. It was fun but Banjo is a collect-a-thon platformer. N&B damaged the brand.
His call-out at the end about Crimsom Skies, oh yes I'd love that. Especially if the detail comes even close to the world in Flight Simulator.
Me too. Especially as they are releasing all their games on pc now. Not to start a fan boy war, but making Crimson Skies 2 an xbox exclusive was a really bad idea. The flight "sim" crowd has always been pc focused and Crimson Skies was a beloved title.
Most def these two should make a full return.
I would love to see a new Conker game, but I honestly don't think that Rare or Microsoft have got the balls to do it justice in todays PC, snowflake, cancel culture world. I mean, they pathetically censored the Live and Reloaded remaster despite the original being released on a "family friendly" Nintendo console. Also I think that most of the people that made the Nintendo Rare games so great left the company either at the point Microsoft acquired the studio or during the transition from The original Xbox to the 360.
Cancel culture? That is so stupid. How can you cancel something you haven't started? I have heard the term a lot lately, but frankly it is a far right conservative view. It is more like they just don't think that is the best idea for a game that would sell successfully. I think the definition of family friendly is evolving. There are some people that don't watch/buy any technology or entertainment. Then, there are people that will watch/buy anything and everything in between. People need to respect other's views whether they agree with them or not.
Everything that involves hating bigotry or some of the major ugly 'isms' is deemed "cancel culture". It's a blanket term. And if you defend others against those generally unacceptable things you are immediately called an SJW. BJ in Wolfenstein has fought Nazis and far right extremists since forever...but the last entry got criticized cause in addition to killing Nazis you helped a black female civil rights leader (aka a SJW).
I don't know about this specific topic you guys are talking about but, you can always cancel plans. That is not a new concept by any means young fella.
Also on a side note, maybe you are an evolutionist or a proponent of the idea. I was looking for some info on it. I could spend all day researching it but, it would be much easier to ask someone knowledgeable like it always is. Do you happen to know "if the theory is true, then why has no one suggested or attempted to deactivate the 2B gene in the ape creature. Maybe you or someone here can answer and provide a link with the available data including successful experiments. I get not running a trial like this on humans in reverse but, maybe this particular gene selection on ape's?
@dlord Thanks for reply. I was actually hoping for someone to address what I actually asked specifically though. I'm not that lazy when it comes to gener evolution info and history. I have actually heard much more thought out and compile lectures but, thanks anyway.
If South Park Games exist and are successful, Conker can too without issue, South Park went all the way with it lol
Good games are more important than known character. Perfect dark zero and Nuts and bolts are good exemple.
Reheat old trash and shovel it into gamepass.
"It looks like it's up to the studious" we've known this already. Rare has said they don't wanna end up making banjo 40 so they are focused on new IP. For older IP they said they would allow other studios to work on them as long as they are very passionate about it meaning if the the yooka laylee team wanted to make a banjo 3 with rare they would've been on that asap but they dont care ig. Doublefine with the humor they got they can easily make a conker with rare.
I'd like to see another Banjo, but tbh I don't think rare should develop it. They're not the same company they were back then (literally). It would be nice if they could contract it out to the Yooka-laylee devs.
I'd like to see Conker, Banjo but also Jet Force Gemini and some new ip's. I wonder what Rare would be like if Nintendo bought them instead of Microsoft?
Yes and yes!
I would buy an Xbox or upgrade my pc for a Conker remake.
Microsoft has a lot of great dormant franchises that I'd love to see return. Conker, Banjo, Perfect Dark, Lost Odyssey, Crimson Skies, etc.
Nice, i hope they pull some of these classics out of their back pocket and do what Activition did with Crash 4 but for their IP's. Would be great!
Also - a re-imaginging of Perfect Dark would be amazing built ground up for Series X.
It just comes down to whether or not there’s a studio out there that wants to do it. Rare definitely has shown they’d rather make new IPs. Only hope is an outside studio pitching an idea to Microsoft
No thanks. We need a focus on games with a gripping story and characters.
And, they've only had them for how long...?
phil: which of the old xbox classics do you want? Me: yes
Unfortunately I don't this would be a good idea, the original Rare teams that made these games have moved on and I don't belive they could capture the same magic. Nuts and bolts is testament to this.
I would love to see Conker finally have his much deserved sequel (I still have my good old N46 version) but I can understand the hesitation with going forward with this game. The first question would be about rentability for Microsoft because the Original and the remake are cult classics but they are from commercial success. Also just remembering that Killer Instinct was one of the most requested title and Microsoft made it a launch title and despite all the support it got and praised from the fighting community it far from a success story (But I would recommend anyone a go with the game because it's really good). We can also add the question of who wants to develop a game who's success was the ability to offend? As many pointed out, lot's of the jokes from the original Conker would probably be subject to controversy today ( Mr big Cog, the big breast flower, etc.).
He doesn't mention them by name. It's more like: "I like Rare, and they can do whatever they want. How about that Everwild?"
