Another generation, another flame war between console enthusiasts and the PC Master Race.
Graphics and performance aren't the only distinguishing factors that make a PC great. ''Neither is truly “better” than the other. As the owner of both a gaming PC and a Nintendo Switch, I could not imagine having to choose between them. The Switch gives me access to all of Nintendo’s new first party titles.....'' You have completely missed the mark. The debate arises with multi plat games.
not just that but as good as nintendo's first party are, i wouldn't trade in my computer games because of it. I'd choose pc if it came down to it. Nintendo games are great though but i doubt Nintendo is even going to allow it to be backward compatible for it's next console let alone generations to come like a pc is.
I dont care for pc gaming, nothing wrong with it, I just prefer the ease of use that consoles offer, I lose out on some things and gain in others, its all good lol.
I prefer the games consoles offer - PC just can't compete in my eyes. Not into MMO's and early access games.
Eh? There's a lot more to PC than MMO's, you also cannot use a KB & mouse for the majority of console games, it will likely be select titles. Many find keyboard and mouse essential for shooters, RTS, and even third person games.
Of course you can get other games on PC, but those games are differentiator between the 2. I prefer a console experience and console games.
For me PC for all the multiplatform games, Xbox Series X games, and some not all PlayStation Exclusives will be playable on PC. The plethora of games is only the beginning, this doesn't include vr/ar that will thrive on PC. Not to mention able to play PC games on the couch with a gamepad is not too bad........
PC, PS5 and Switch for the win.
That’s my setup. You don’t have to miss out on anything if you have Sense.
The take away from this article for me was, wherever you game, enjoy it. In that regard I think he is correct. I am a keen audiophile and only really listen to high quality music on high end gear, but I have friends who listen to MP3 quality on a stack system, and are more than happy with that. Music is the thing we have in common, and that's good.
I prefer more control over what I own and what I can do with it. Options are king. PC does that for me. That and there's no sheisty paywall to utilize my own damn internet in a game I bought.
If you wanted control over what you own then you'd play on console. Physical releases are the norm on console, not so on PC.
I can buy from any storefront I want physical or digital. I'm not limited to what one main digital store and a handful of retailers dictate. Far greater options there. Physical disc media is going to die (already dying elsewhere), that's just the sad truth, it's not a matter of if, only when. Also my control over what I own isn't exclusively limited to physical media. I can modify a game however I want on the fly. Things such as backwards compatibility and mods aren't a limitation set by conglomerate overlords to squeeze more money out of you.
The amount of control on pc is far far far greater than on console.
Lolz PC. I game a bit on PC (Steam) But look at that nice picture there. That’s everything Sony has been building and will support for many years, same goes with Nintendo and Microsoft. The games are optimized to run on these nice $299-$499 lovely boxes. Let consoles compete with each other as intended. Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo aren’t sweating because of PC. These “debates” need to end. To each his own 🤷🏾♂️
My pc and consoles are plugged into same display unit. The graphics are usually similar with similar assets apart from frame rates. Pc has lots of problems though take for example cold War beta it starts to run choppy and you have to goto config file and change video allocation number to smoothen it out. Console you don't have any issues like this combined with how games are now set on console swapping in between them combined with excellent comms functions.. More enjoyment on next gen consoles now
You can stop feigning objectivity any time. Nobody is buying it.
He is buying it.
For me the flexibility that a good gaming PC brings makes it the better choice even though it's more expensive. For example, I play chess using a DGT electronic chess board connected to my PC. I can play against the computer or people all around the world using a real chess board. That's something I could never do with a console (technically it could be done but it's not an option). That and an endless amount of non entertainment things that I can do makes it the better investment. Of course playing games that almost always look and perform better than on consoles doesn't hurt either. I had originally bought RDR2 for the PS4 but wow what a night and day difference once it became available on PC.
Flame bait "journalism" is a non-starter for me in 2020.
PC PS4 Switch PC will always be my first choice because Sony and MS continue to not fix some of their mistakes.
The Xbox Series X is a hard sell for PC gamers for all Xbox Series X games will be available on PC and most likely on Steam. The biggest issue with consoles especially PlayStation/Xbox is the fact that are too PC like from having multiple versions, the firmware updates, game updates, etc. The other issue is more and more games are made multiplatform. Yes, still has more exclusives if you enjoy mmos, rts, mobas, and lots of indie games from very obscure game developers/publishers. The games that everyone wants is usually a multiplatform game. At the end, the PlayStation/Xbox experience will end as a gaming service. We are already seeing it with xbox game pass
After playing 144 fps, no vsync (latency-free), and lazer precision mouse, I cannot go back to console, except on occasion for the excellent exclusives. But competitive games? PC is far superior.
LOL there is no debate! PC always wins. Faster response in shooter games, better hardware(easily upgradeable), cheaper games with more sales, mods etc. Built my kids a decent pc and they also have switch, xbone and ps5 but I cannot get them to play on consoles. I only try once and awhile because that's what i grew up on but i know why they won't.
