It's OK to Not Finish Games

Zahi AR. from Link Cable Gaming writes: "There are so many games out there and sometimes either we don’t finish them, or just force ourselves to go through them. Today we’re going to take a look at why you don’t have to finish a game just because you paid money to own it."

Yeah if you're not having fun, there's really no point. It's easy to lose track of that and get lost in feeling you need to "complete" the game.

Yppupdam1285d ago

I agree wholeheartedly! I play games to have fun and relax, if I start getting angry at a game, I may try to do a little research on how to "get past" the frustrating part BUT, if playing a game leaves me frustrated or the game just gets too punishing, I have no qualms about not finishing it. I play games to have fun, not to work.

My OCD always fights me on this.

This is my biggest problem right now with RDR 2. I absolutely loved the first game but this one is so boring to me but I have already invested so many hours into it and done all the side missions so far as well. I mean, of course it has its moments when it is fun, but most of the time I find it pretty dull. But leaving it unfinished will not sit well with my OCD.

You gotta finish RDR2 man. I got the game day one on ps4 and only made it about 30% through the game before I put it down because I was bored too. When it came out on PC, I decided to give it another try and after completing the game entirely, I think that RDR2 is just as good as RDR1. The final 30% of the game will take you on a wild 8 second ride. Time to saddle up partner.

I love gamepass. I've saved on so much money from playing GP rather than spending 60 bucks and playing a game for a few hours and then i'm done with it.

NEXUS-61286d ago

You got the wrong console if that's the case.

Pughski1286d ago

Imagine playing Uncharted, spider-man, God of War and Horizon for only a few hours. I would neverrrr.

NEXUS-61286d ago

Imagine playing Crackdown 3, SoT, Battletoads, Bleeding Edge, Grounded more than a few hrs? My mistake, I can see why gamepass is so popular.

You can be as fictitious as you like, but by your own admission you choose games that bore you after a few hrs.

Maybe you actually do need help.

NicSage1285d ago

Maybe I just enjoy playing games for a few hours and then I'm finished. Maybe I just want to experience something new and fun. Maybe I don't need to finish a game to enjoy it. I'm perfectly fine playing games the way I like to. Go finish another game.

NEXUS-61285d ago

What did you do before gamepass?

Here's a ripping tip for you - stick to indie games, BUY off steam, don't rent off ms.

NicSage1284d ago

Buy all my games, sony, xbox, pc, switch. 1400+ games on pc mix from humble bundle and sales. I prefer GOG now.

The ripping tip of the day I'm consuming gaming as a media how I enjoy.

I'll keep renting, I'll keep playing games how I want.

NEXUS-61284d ago

Wow - all those games, that's 2,800 hrs at least.

Yep you know what doing, thank god for gamepass - no more owning games for you.

EKWB reportedly plagued with financial disarray many gaming pc's left without parts

EK Cooling allegedly has slipped itself into a hot soup of seemingly endless financial woes, where it has not paid its staff, suppliers, and contractors for many months as the company is facing liquidity problems and a surplus of inventory left unsold, stuck in the warehouse for a more extended period. Gamers Nexus investigated these claims made by former and current personnel, where he found trails of unpaid bills lasting as long as three to four months and unpaid raises that accumulated for almost a year.

EK Water Blocks has two entities—a Slovenian-based headquarters and a US-based subsidiary, EK Cooling Solutions. Steve narrated the series of events in detail, stating that the company was reportedly irresponsible and negligent regarding payment. Consequently, partners and employees are forced to share the burden of alleged mismanagement. It all begins with its extensive range of products, leading to a surplus of goods. EK has over 230 water blocks, 40 liquid cooling kits, 85 reservoirs, 40 pumps, 73 radiators, and 212 miscellaneous accessories.

Yes this is not about video games directly but indirectly this will impact the pc gaming/workstation space hard.

This company is massive one of two in the water cool space so if it goes poof then thousands out there have no spare parts or half built computers.

SO yeah i know not about a video game but think of it as amd leaving the pc space but this is ekwb that could be leaving water cooling in the pc space

Jayz2cents a supporter of there products also has issues

As someone that has built a watercooling rig. EK is big, but there's so many numerous watercooling part companies out there. EK's stuff isn't exactly amazing quality for the price compared to others either, it's just ok. Much like Corsair. The impact would be negligible long term. For perspective the majority of my parts are XSPC, at most I use EK for my gpu waterblocks and fittings. Both easily replaceable.
