Review - Star Wars: Squadrons (PSVR) | WayTooManyGames

WTMG's Leo Faria: "I still cannot believe this game was developed and published by EA. Star Wars Squadrons is downright amazing. It’s a phenomenal VR experience, an addictive multiplayer title, and most importantly, a freaking fantastic Star Wars game. It’s something that could easily rival Lucasarts’ best titles from back in the day. If you own a VR set, be it a PSVR or one of the various PC-compatible visors available in the market, you need this game. You may not think you do, but trust me, you do. If piloting an X-Wing or TIE Fighter in virtual reality doesn’t sound like one the coolest experiences of all time to you, you might be dead on the inside."

Im going to breakdown and buy this i keep seeing good things being said about this game. I was holding off because of first person view only but nobody ever complains about it so it must great.

Im going to get it on xbox but i have a oculus rift s but i cant stand using orgin. I heard the vr is also amazing on this game.

It has a huge learning curve so if you're bad in the MP at the start keep at it. Once you start unlocking the upgrades for your ship and figuring out when to switch power to thrusters, then to blasters, and get a hang of drifting it becomes an amazing experience.

I played a couple of hours in psvr.

Definitely cool, and sitting in a beat up x wing with that familiar laser sound blasting around in my headphones certainly brought a big smile to my face.

This reviewer rated it highly based on their experience w it in VR, they didn't play it standard, if you read. I can't assure you'll be as blown away if you play it regular, bc this is all about having the most immersive Rogue Squadron-esque experience- actually feeling a part of the Star Wars universe. It's really mind blowing how fully fleshed it feels as a VR experience. From my time with it, it's probably an 8 standard, but at least a 9 in VR. If you have an Oculus, I think it would be foolish to get it on XBox. The PC version would include the standard version too, and there's just no trading the MP experience you get from VR. Origin or not.

I will admit, its a great game. I just wish there was more to it. An 8 hour campaign, 2 5v5 multiplayer modes, and 8 total ships (4 per side) is not much.

I'm hoping they add to it, but it looks doubtful considering it was a $40 game. Either that, or hopefully this one was a test to see how well it did before going all in on a sequel.

Squadrons VR is a dream come true for VR fans... it might even be my GOTY.

Star Wars Outlaws is too demanding for the Steam Deck, get your Jedi fix with these games instead

You won't get great performance in Star Wars Outlaws on the Steam Deck; it seems nearly unplayable. So, what else should you play?

Should I point out that, contrary to what the headline suggests, you don't play as a jedi in star wars outlaws.

all of those are good. I'd add some honorable mentions like Dark Forces and the original vector graphics arcade game.
