Twinfinite: "Microsoft's acquisition of ZeniMax and Bethesda is a power play that has far-reaching consequences for Xbox and the entire games industry."
Move the needle not in a good direction it really I think it will affect development of future releases, but thats just my opinion.
I wonder if the deal will help Bethesda develop better games ......i dont want to be that guy really but i dont consider their games equal to Horizon , GoT or Zelda ...some of them have the potential indeed but for some reason they dont reach the goal of system seller or masterpiece .....i want to see what they ll do under MSs wings
Maybe it will stop them from releasing buggy games in the fallout and Elfer scrolls series...or at least follow through on bug fixes. Sad you have to use player mods to fix them.
We'll see. Xbox studios hasn't really been showing any signs of competence during the entirety of xbox one. We will see how they handle this acquisition.
Good for Microsoft I hope this doesn't start a trend with their other competitors Amazon and Google calling their "Scrooge McDuck levels of cash" and start buying major publishers. Other than that they made their console very appealing they might release Bethesda's games on other platforms but they will keep some exclusive DLC or play the game First on Xbox people care for these things.
This deal split the gaming world into 4 distinct camps: PS5+Japanese developers, MS GamePass+ American developers; Mobile games + Chinese developers; least but not last, Nintendo all by themselves.
It was definitely a power move by acquiring a big established company but the real deal is acquiring or building fresh new studios & make new original interesting franchises building a name & reputation in the industry.
Not really. Starfield and Elder Scrolls VI will still be multi platform. We won't see this "power play" until another decade or more when Elder Scrolls VII comes out.
As much as I hope you are right, we dont know that for sure.
Theyve been in development for so long now that the building blocks for that will already have been done.
Not really, Bethesda games all have below 5 check out yourself, EXCELLENT franchise horrible games. But for me they are not my type but seriously look at the are user review.
Gamepass subs went up 5 million in the last 5 months before this news. They're at 15 now. This news will definitely cause them to skyrocket even more. Imagine they get up to 30 in another 6 months...... Do the math. That's 450 million dollars a month in revenue. 5.4 billion dollars a year. How do you move Gamepass subscriptions? You keep games exclusive to platforms with Gamepass. In the long run it makes more financial sense not to sell games on PS5 and force people into the Gamepass ecosystem with must have titles like Doom and Elders Scrolls.. You get up to 50 million subs, you're nearing 10 billion dollars a year, every year.
Pretty sweet with doom i dont really play any other bethesda games hope that changes.
