The recent announcement of the Microsoft Bethesda acquisition could be the winning gamble Microsoft needs to win next-gen.
Who wrote this. its a problem to write stuff really quick.... None of those games are exclusive. What it shows is that microsoft wants to make money. It doesnt matter where it comes from. They will get a huge amount from sony gamers. Like they already do with Minecraft. Microsoft gaming division is turning into a 3rd party studio! Thats what many are already saying. To be the netflix of gaming. Like Phil Spencer told. Consoles sales dont matter. I hope some understand what it means to spend 7.5 billions for the future and giving hundreds more to all those studios to make games....Sooner or later Gamepass will be a option for ALL platforms. Thats the big picture. Rigth now Bethesda is talking with Sony for timed exclusive Starfield....
That was addressed in the article. Phil Spencer said that future Bethesda games appearing on all platforms would be in a "case-by-case" basis. Indicating that some Bethesda games may be exclusive to Xbox only. In addition, the article talks about how Microsoft could be doing something similar to when they acquired Minecraft and simply reap the rewards of Bethesda appearing on other platforms. So I'm confused as to what your comment is suggesting?
Dude, Phil Spencer says many things. Like he is againts exclusives and all forms of exclusivity... The bottom line, Microsoft wants money and wont close that door. but some gamers dont want to understand that. All their big titles will be on all platforms.
@waverider of course he says many things, but it's crazy to think that Bethesda and all the other studios they got won't be working on some exclusive titles. Sure your Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Doom, and any big name existing IPs may continue life on PlayStation, but with MS now being the owner expect to see new exclusive IPs to be on the platform only. This goes without saying they now have control over when these games get released on other platforms. People keep saying they want to be the Netflix of gaming, which is true but Sony would need to allow the pass on their service, which likely isn't gonna happen with their talks of the service as of late. if MS is aiming to the be Netflix of gaming, expect to see exclusive content for Gamepass only to help drive up their service.
''Right now Bethesda is talking with Sony for timed exclusive Starfield....'' Firstly its a bs twitter convo, secondly why tf would MS shoot itself? The deal is done. Maybe an exclusive price at best, like full price for the game lol. Its common sense, if I need better weapons to defend against the opposition, so I should just hand over these new weapons to the opposition?? Ignore anything thats said for PR reasons today and all week by both parties. Everything is damage control. The truth is that MS bought them. Thats the truth and the reality will be seen in the coming days and years.
No, it doesn't, it restricts innovation.
Yup, everyone in Bethesda as soon as the announcement came, booked holidays for the next 15 years. Innovation is now automatically dead.
To bring skyrim to gamepass. lol honestly this company has a long road to prove itself.
