Mumbai Terrorist Attacks Delay GTA IV PC Launch In India

Less than a week before the launch of GTA IV for the PC in India at the lowest price point in the world, shocking terrorist activities involving drive-by shootings in a cop car, car bombs and cop killings force local Rockstar / 2K distributor to delay the game for an unspecified number of days for fear of being "insensitive" to the tragedy.

I think delay of GTA4 is the least problem there at the moment.

I mean for f*cks sake! Armed and trained people killing inoccent and defenseless ones. There's no justification for such acts.

Iraq Resistance ROM5629d ago

there is no justification to kill any single innocent sole, but if u take human kind feelings of revenge and oppression and hatred then i think there is a little justification.

God,Islam and quran clearly forbids the killing of any innocent sole without right reason, so these people who did it clearly did not follow the holy book the quran on these actions thus they will be punished in hell for it, but at the same time u need to know 2 important things

1: did u know that there is also Hindu terrorist organization that did terrorist attacks on muslims and that they just discover it last week, and some of their members were a police chief, and hindu priest and several other people hold important government positions? of course u wont see this in the news but if a group call them selfs muslims and do terrorist attacks then each corner of the world will know of it.

2: did u know that the muslims in india is being oppressed by the Hindu government and their army? did u know that kashmir is pure islamic state and yet it is being rule by force by the hindu indians? did u know that rape, killings and kidnapping happens in kashimir by the hindu's and yet no one knows a thing or do anything about it? did u know these terrorist attackers first demand for negotiation was to release their prisoned people from jails and to not oppress the muslims in india??

3: did u know that many times happened in the world some unknown groups who claims they r muslims and do terrorist attacks and the truth is either some other non muslim power is behind them and they just payed them to do it or some other powers did it them selfs so professionally and some stupid groups claim they did it to gain more fame and so more people join them and help them?

with that all said think of the events again and make statements after.

led10905629d ago

its the worst thing that can ever happen.....i live in that part of the town whr it has happened....and i cant even start to explain to u how bad this thing really is.....i really dunno wat those ppl are gonna achieve by doing this....they said that they want to avenge the injustice done to muslims in india....but in the process have ended up killing more muslims then they can imagine

LokMessier5629d ago

Sorry to hear that it's happening in your town, as much as I want to say "I feel your pain" I haven't been in that situation so I shall refrain from saying such. Though I guess one should be thankful that they are still alive after living through the attacks, stay safe over there.

RoseSapphire5629d ago

Are you kidding me? Not to make light of the horrible events, but releasing a video game half way around the world has nothing to do with it.

rajman5629d ago

Its delayed in India and not half away across the world...try reading the post properly

DA_SHREDDER5629d ago

I say everyone needs to buy a gun and fight back.

LokMessier5629d ago

...?

That would only cause more strife and essentially do more harm than good. What needs to be done is to actually go after the source, depending on one's stand point it could be religion or just the extremist of the religion. Though either way guns is probably the WORST way to go about doing this.

midnights5629d ago

Hilarious how people are disagreeing with LokMessier. Yeah, forget going after the source lets all just grab guns and go shooting. I do believe if a lot of people carried guns on their persons it would make them less susceptible to bad guys but it would cause problems of its own.

LokMessier5629d ago

I come back and see so many disagrees. I guess people like fighting fire with fire even though it does not extinguish the fire but merely spread it? So furthermore I assume people would like it when the extremist are done with their country they will branch out and go to other countries. Being that everybody has a gun that only worsens the problem for other countries.

Wondering the same thing midnights I suppose people think that the problem would only stay in that one region if everyone was allowed a gun. Soon if everyone was allowed a gun extremist would upgrade to something more powerful, then people would have to upgrade just as well. So on and so forth, though oh well send the people that disagreed with me over there with a gun and see how long they would last. As merely strapping on a gun and shooting someone wont solve the problem (granted it may solve the problem of relieving one person) it would not solve it ultimately as extremist move in groups, so kill one be killed by 50 or so.

Looking Back At 2008, An Unbelievably Incredible Year Of Video Game Releases

Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."

ChasterMies1d 2h ago

Some of these low paid video game “news” writers weren’t born before 2007.

just_looken21h ago

Here here

Those that were around before 2000's i am sure are like me that think we entered a world of non readers or those that follow without question.

I can not wait to see fallout 3 a goty game even though it was about water with non content until you add the dlc/updates then you got the performance/crashing

CrimsonWing691d 13h ago

I don’t think anything can compare to 2023

lucasnooker1d 13h ago

1998 - the best year in gaming! Metal gear solid, crash bandicoot 3, medievil, half life, ocarina of time, thief, tenchu, resident evil 2, Spyro, tomb raider 3, oddworld abes exodus, banjo kazooie.

It was a different breed of a gaming era. You’ll never understand what it was like back then. The aura of gaming, it was different!

KyRo1d 12h ago (Edited 1d 12h ago )

I second this. Gaming was a lot more varied and fun than it is today. I'm 35 so getting on compared to some here but I got to see all the changes from NES up to now but I've never felt so disappointed in any generation than I have this current gen. I was expecting more from this generation rather than prettier versions of games that came before it. Game mechanics have become so refined that alot of games feel the same and has done for a while now.

Maybe it's time to have a break for a while. I love gaming but I don't feel I get much fun in the traditional sense out of it anymore.

CrimsonWing691d 12h ago (Edited 1d 12h ago )

Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 2, Abe’s Exodus, and Ocarina of Time are the only things from that list that I liked.

Here’s the 2023 game releases that I personally liked… and big releases that I didn’t care for:

- Dead Space Remake
- Wo Long Dynatsy
- Resident Evil 4 Remake
- Diablo 4
- Fire Emblem Engage
- Hogwarts Legcay
- Street Fighter 6
- Hi-Fi Rush
- Like a Dragon: Ishin
- Octopath Traveler 2
- Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters
- Final Fanatsy XVI (actually ended up not liking this, but it was still a big deal release)
- Baldur’s Gate 3
- Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon
- Lies of P
- Mortal Kombat 1
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
- Starfield (Ended up hating this one, but big release)
- Super Mario Bros. Wonder
- Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (I’m an old-school Zelda fan, but didn’t really enjoy this game)
- Alan Wake 2

I mean, honestly I’ve never seen a year of major IP releases like that, ever.

Profchaos1d 9h ago (Edited 1d 9h ago )

Isn't it just a generational thing realistically.

I've been gaming since way back and I some of my favourite games go as far back as the late 80s for me each generation has a year or two of game changing releases one after another before an inevitable dry spell.

I kind of agree gaming had a different feel games hit different because we didn't have the internet nothing got spoiled and you really had to put in the effort to beat a puzzle which could set entire groups of people looking for a solution. But most importantly games were experimental and not as cookie cutter as today even basics like controls were not universal today r2 is shoot l2 is ads garunteed you can't deviate from that in a shooter back then it could of been square, R1 or R1 and circle nothing was standard.

But as time moves on a new generation picks up their controller they are going to be interested in different things that PS1 demo disc with the t Rex blew our primitive 16 bit brains back on launch but to kids today it's laughable.
The new gen of kids coming into to hobby seem to value different things to us there seems to be a huge focus on online play, streamers, gaming personalities, and social experiences, convience of digital downloads. To me I value none of that but that's ok like my parents not liking the band's I would listen to its just the natural cycle.

Gameseeker_Frampt1d ago

Just about every year in the 7th generation was great and something we most likely won't experience again.

2009 for example had Assassin's Creed 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Dragon Age: Origins, Uncharted 2, Halo 3: ODST, Killzone 2, Borderlands, Bayonetta, and Demon's Souls to name a few.

just_looken21h ago

It still amazes me we got over 7 rockstar games ps2/ps3 but 3 for the ps3/ps4/ps5

Dragon age 1-3 and mass effect 1-3 in 7ish years what a generation.
