Ahead of Ubi Forward, a message from Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot

Ubisoft CEO talks about their values and what they stand for.

-Foxtrot1703d ago

So he's basically doing this to try and win some love back before they reveal new games later

A strategy, a tactic...nothing more

morganfell1703d ago

Just wants to pay lip service to every social trend before they rev up their engines and step on the GaaS.

Exactly

I think it's more about sexual misconduct that was happening.

-Foxtrot1703d ago (Edited 1703d ago )

Yeah I know it is

But instead of apologising when it actually happened, speaking out properly instead of hiding until the backlash died down he's come out now with a shitty apology because there's a Ubisoft games event in a few hours.

More to do about giving a quick apology so people can get hyped for their new games.

So is what he is saying in the message wrong? Is it immoral for a CEO or corporation to want to be on the right side of history when it comes to such matters?

Or should they they just shut up and make games cause it interferes with your social/political views?

No winning here.

They don't address it -> get criticized for not addressing it.

They address it -> get criticized for trying to win some love back.

I honestly don't know who is right or wrong, but at least they put themselves out there and made it about their issues. I think that's better than just ignoring it entirely. I don't think they're "good guys" at all, but this is a problem with the structure of large businesses in general. Just solve that shit, hire people who aren't as shitty and have talent, move on, be better.

Saying it's nothing more is a bit unfair. Yves isn't some heartless bastard who doesn't care about anybody. I'm not the biggest fan of ubisoft but this guy cares about his people and his customers. With that being said yes it is definitely being timed before today's show because that's when the most people are paying attention to ubisoft.

Thing is with Ubisoft games there is no passion they just set a barrier of average everything and are happy with it, by the looks of it that follows it in the office behaviour of conduct as well

mikeboccher1703d ago

We went an entire console generation with no new splinter cell games think about that
