Get EA Play with Xbox Game Pass for No Additional Cost

Xbox Wire: "When we created Xbox Game Pass, we did so with the vision of bringing you more great games to discover and play with your friends. Over the last three years, we’ve delivered on that vision by bringing more content to our 10 million members, and we’ve expanded the service to reach people wherever they play"

That's a pretty big get for Gamepass.

Marquinho1755d ago

Having FIFA, Madden and NHL for "free" at some point in the year can be really big.

NeoGamer2321755d ago (Edited 1755d ago )

I have EA Play and it is not just the sports games. It also includes the regular EA games like PvZ, battlefield, NFS, star wars, titanfalls, and all bioware games.

I haven't bought a EA game in years now, but have played them all.

AngelicIceDiamond1755d ago

Great deal but there's no way in hell I'm playing Madden or any sports game. EA will have field day with microtransactions.

GPU is really turning into a real bang for the buck. I received an email from MS for being in the xcloud test program with this little bit of info: "Thanks to you, starting September 15 Project xCloud is graduating to Beta and will now be available for millions of players around the world, included as a part of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription at no additional charge."

LordoftheCritics1755d ago

Ok that's a massive deal. I'll give them that.

crazyCoconuts1755d ago

And PC GamePass is still at it's introductory $5/month, and it includes EA as well... great value right now.

RazzerRedux1755d ago

Game Pass for PC just got a whole lot better. Exciting news.

crazyCoconuts1754d ago

Darn, they just decided to stop the introductory price on PC. At $10/month it's not worth it imo

roadkillers1755d ago

I'll read, but when does it drop on gamepass?

CYALTR1755d ago

It says "Holiday 2020" which I would read as November 10th, when the new consoles drop

CYALTR1755d ago

$4.99/month as of right now, unless PS offers some kind of deal. Doesn't seem likely right at this point, but probably will be something they will do down the road

rainslacker1754d ago (Edited 1754d ago )

So, maybe my math is wrong here, but isn't it still cheaper to get PSNow at the yearly rate, PS+ at the yearly rate, and pay the $4.99 a month for EA Play? Or at least an equivalent price? If you pay everything by the year, it seems that the PS combination comes in a bit cheaper by about $5-6.

Disregarding special promotional costs that may exist.

Edit: Forgot they raised the price of PS+, so it'd be about $5 more paying yearly for the various services. I don't care to figure the math for the monthly costs of these things because I don't think it's that important. My curiosity just got the better of me above.

Edit 2: So decided to do the math more, and seems that if you pay monthly, GPU is a better deal. If you pay yearly, and want all three, then you save about $30 on PS based on the yearly costs of the services.

Maybe I'm missing something though. Anyone feel free to correct me.

rainslacker1754d ago

Lots of disagrees, but no one is saying why my math is wrong.

I see you Xbox. You doing good but I still don’t like the series s . But good news

slate911755d ago

Actually insane. Might push me over to get the pass for my computer.

phoenixwing1755d ago

I'd recommend it for outer worlds alone

MadLad1755d ago (Edited 1755d ago )

I went in early for PC. EA gets deserved flack, but that just added a lot of value to the service. Let's be real, they are A-holes, but they do have quality games to be had.

Getting their service tied into one I already had was pretty cool to hear.

Think that rumor that they'll still make a new console but at a profit at $1000 will be true though. The series consoles will remain their cheap alternative throughout next gen I would say. Keep in mind that game pass and pretty much going 3rd party is their main focus. They want to bring xbox everywhere.

GamerRN5h ago

If they don't maintain some kind of console presence, I think they will lose gamepass subscribers and just become a 3rd party publisher who eventually sells everything off

Cacabunga4h ago

Xbox games are releasing on all platforms. Who needs this hardware? PS or PC is all you need

Flewid6383h ago

I've never owned an Xbox in my life and I have GamePass.

thorstein2h ago

The only Xbox I owned was the 360. I have gamepass for my PC.

crazyCoconuts4h ago

Even if they could get it down to $800 for a box that can run with comparable performance to a PS6 (at, say $200 cheaper) the population of people willing to buy such a thing would be so limited.
It would be the worst of both worlds.

A slow, painful and public death too.

Cyberpunk 2077 finally hit that sweet sale price for me so I went ahead and picked it up. I just started playing Dragon’s Dogma 2 though so it’ll be a while before I delve into Night City. Looking forward to it though.
