After the reveal of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 30 Series, the technology company has released another gameplay video featuring the popular video game Doom Eternal.
Once upon a time we used to salivate for 60fps at 1080p. Loving the speed of the gameplay. Its like visuals on red bull.
For most of us 1080p 60fps is still a sweet spot
Definitely still is. But 4k 60fps is looking tasty. I'm just happy that these cards should be able to pull 60fps on any title fluctuating from 1080p to 4k, if not 4k always.
I have a 55 inch LG oled, yes that 4k 60fps makes my mouth water. 😋
Once you OLED, you never go back. Even the older PC games I play that I don't feel like fiddling with to display modern resolutions tend to look great on it.
Now this is real true next gen. none of that locked 30 or 60fps shit. This is in the 100s @ 4K with all settings maxed. Hail to the king baby!
Locked 60fps is now shit? Yea... no
Whenever they say locked 60, it's always the average FPS is around 65-70, but you will face frame rates in 40s. That is somethig I don't like. I am not saying 60fps is shit btw.
its running 4k at over 100fps going into high 150s. current rtx card can also 4k and go over 100fps albiet not as high as the 3080. so if you upgraded what would you get? the same game that looks and plays exactly the same?
Future games that could stay 60fps at 4k and in the meantime, the best for half the price thats if upgrading from the 2080 is your point. And for those who are abandoning ship from their 2080ti's, its an architectural and performance upgrade and bigger rtx upgrade so if they can sell and make their money back great, if not its still a big upgrade for not only this game but every thing going forward. Basically all the GPUs they announced were an upgrade and there's no loss in having more power for todays games. For everyone else its a no brainer leap of an upgrade readying/future proofing us for the next gen. I'll take more power over *enough power for certain games* especially with the pricing we are getting. But if they DONT upgrade, thats the real situation to be discussed. Anything lower than these cards will be a bit better or on par with the new consoles or maybe lower depending on what you own( 2080ti, 2080, 2070, or 10xx and below). The reason why the PC community is salivating for the 3000 cards is because it sounds like a great investment for todays and tomorrow games. Insurance for the entire 6 yr cycle. Simple.
Sorry, but a game at 60fps does not look or play the same as 100+fps. If you have played 100 fps of a game, 60 fps becomes jittery. I can't play CSGO at anything lower than 100fps.
Don't mind Merrin. You'll find him in every PC article downplaying every victory, and being overly critical of PC otherwise.
Buttery smooth running at that res. I like it. In fact, I might just go and fire up Doom again now for some carnage!
In summary, it runs 40 - 50% faster than the USD1,200 RTX 2080ti. Wow!
Exactly. The 3000 series drivers are not even out. I mean the card is not even out. Usually the performance only goes up from here. Also with next gen software, they will make better use of the gpu and the rtx. \ This is just brute force power on older software.
Indeed. I'm not playing anything on my PC anymore (apart from Starcraft II) until I have this best at home. Apart from the big titles coming this year, it will be a treat to revisit the "Next-Gen" version of The Witcher 3, which Ray Tracing and a lot of improvements + Mods. 🤩
I'm excited just for the 3070. I ran sli 680s just until a couple years ago when I got a deal on 2 1660ti The difference was insane. I'll happily invest in the 3070.
As good as Doom Eternal is, i'm not surprised it's pushing those FPS on those cards or a 2080ti. It will be interesting to see how it copes with Newer games coming with higher visual fx as particles, raytracing etc increase. They are mega cards though. You'll need a very powerful system behind it.
Eh. If you built something in the last few years, you likely are fine just throwing in a 3070/3080. If you're looking at a 3090, you probably should make sure you're updated. Otherwise, you'll get along just fine with a decent i5 at 16 gig of ram. You can definitely do a 3070 build around $800 if you're smart about what you're buying.
