Yup ... Couldn't agree more.
The RE4 Remake is kinda unnecessary. Let it age a bit more. It was one the most advanced 6th gen game.
Instead a proper Remake of Silent Hill is a much better proposition. But its upto Konami's bizarre logic.

RE4 happened 15 years ago, that is kinda a long time ago now, and we humans don't live forever.

I think it is more about what a full remake can bring to the table. 3 generations is a good guideline for remake for sure. But, also it is about whether there has been enough innovation in the genre to make it worth while.

For example, "remade" pac-man probably won't give much. But a remake to the games mentioned like Dino Crisis, Resident Evil 1, Fall Out 1, Silent Hill 1, Metal Gear Solid 1 all seem like they could add to the original games a lot.
