Today Konami revealed its financial results for the first quarter of the fiscal year 2021, related to the period between April 1, 2020, and June 30, 2020.
Konami has a gaming business?
Maybe from those Pachinko machines with MGS3?
What I didn't know Konami has games? Beside PES of course and all other ip they refuse to make.
how is that possible?
They still bring in cash from Yu-Gi-Oh and PES and other franchises that are easily considered cash cows
Pretty much. Everything else they do is negligible.
300m PES 2020 downloads? I go through my PES trophy list all the time as I play it alot and I have to say the trophy percentages are awful even for the easy ones. So if 300m downloaded it then only about a few million actually played it?
Those downloads are from the Mobile version -> free
How can they report such strong earnings without hardly any games Jesus
Cash cows, Foxtrot. Kinda like how Epic makes 5% of the profit in the gaming industry through one game.
Gaming include Pachinko machines. This is the Japanese way of gambling.
It’s definitely not video games. Must be saying games in a broad sense.
What people don't get is Konami is a profitable company and doesn't need to use it's IP's for console gamers. Hoping the Sony Silent Hill rumors are true and perhaps even license out the MGS franchise to somebody.
Konami is basically a cockroach
Those Silent Hill Pachinkos must be selling well 🙄
This just demonstrates that a company's Annual Report is meaningless because an executive can choose any numbers he/she wants to support financial success. When you spend zero dollars on development and make ten dollars on a micro transaction from a five year old mobile IP, congratulations, you have a record ROI.
