I, myself, am not a huge fan of third party controllers. Every time I think back on the PlayStation Turbo controller, I shudder.
I'm all for saving cash but when it comes to controllers I buy OEM controllers. Third party controllers are crap feel cheap fall apart after a few plays depending how cheap you go input lag and half the time they don't work. When ever I buy a group of controllers off of Ebay I just chuck the third party controllers in the garbage.

You will probably end up having to buy an OEM one in the end so just skip this sort of tripe.
I'm with you there, but some third party controllers such as the licenced power A and Hori Switch pads are great.
Power As wireless Gamecube controller is brilliant for Smash Bros for example.
8 Bit Do also make quality controllers.
I get the budget options but jheez, some of this stuff is not up to the task
