The Outer Worlds has shipped 2.8 million units, Borderlands 3 at 10.5 million, NBA 2K20 at 14

Based on all the hype and praise the Outer Worlds received I thought it would have sold more units.

I would think that Gamepass would account for more than one million players, as people didn't have to actually buy the game to play compared to the other various platforms. But agree that the numbers are way lower than I expected them to be, with the hype that surrounded the game pre release.

I think Take Two only counts actual sales. When it comes to GamePass they would have received some sort of payment from Microsoft.

Nearly 3 million units in under a year is really good for a new relatively-niche IP that has a basically-free version to play, from a newly-formed publisher, with very little marketing.

Gamepass doesn't account for units sold. They had 5million players on the first weekend.

Happy to see BL3 sold well even with all the Randy Pitchford drama and Epic exclusivity hate before the game launched.
I have yet to play much of the DLC but the main game was a blast.

Most the outer world sales I guess is from playstation. Then obviously more people would of rented it from gamepass on xbox and pc. Not to bad for them.,

Outer worlds seems very low compared to the reception it got. If outer words on game pass remains there for 6 month and cost of gamepass is £5.99 how much of that £36 that you paid as sub goes to take-2

Not surprised at all Borderlands 3 sold that much, it's fallen in price so quickly. You can find it for $20 sometimes and I bet it'll be $15 on Black Friday or so.

I don't know why people are saying almost 3 million copies sold of a new title; a AA release nonetheless, is bad.

The vast majority of people who buy it probably are unaware of all controversies related to micro transactions. Sports games are an entirely different world than what most of us occupy.

I got NBA 2K20 for free last month on the Playstation store and it was still too expensive..
