If not... then you can remove the white and paint them, then apply some clear coat to protect the finish.

the ps4 slim top is pretty easy to remove but I havent seen anyone make custom plates for those. For the og ps4 (and the hdd bay cover) sure but not so much for the slim or even the pro. I'd love to see some specialized covers for the those.

I mean, why not? 360 did it, at least for the front of the system, and I thought it was pretty cool at the time.
I wouldn't mind a black and orange system. Not to mention more personalized, intricate designs.

PS4 has a slide off quarter panel for this and I've seen some very nice custom designs, but being able to customise the whole casing would be next level.

@shaggy... some 360 plates were super cheap in design ideas but most were really well made and still hold their value. Some people took the stock white and made their own designs so there was always that.

Im hoping it is too. Either way I get the impression they are easily removable which I fantastic news for me. I hydrodip and custom paint items for people and if they're this easy to remove and install then it could been a ton of business for myself, without ever needing to strip apart the console.

Hoping the dualsense isnt too delicate inside now

I know some who do the same thing with hydrodipping. Really nice work too. These would be pretty easy for anyone to customize. be it hydrodip or even just painting and stencils. The SX looks to be a big old blank canvas as well (esp if the rumored white is true)

only if people buy their plates. Being that these could easily be reproduced in a 3d printer with various designs... Sony wouldnt get any $$ from those.

You’re right. I liked the shiny chrome look of the first edition. Sucks that I had to swap it for another matte black ps4 when the hdmi port broke

Wow, like the Xbox 360 faceplates. I like this idea instead if Collectors Edition consoles, I mean, you're going to have to get to the SSD somehow to upgrade it so you might as well interweave them, that's slick thinking Sony, good job . A more affordable way to customize your PS5, smart thinking Sony.
