For gamers who grew up in the 80s and have found memories of pumping quarters into various arcade games, #Funtime has arrive and Skewed and Reviewed called it a fun bit of nostalgia in a new review.
Neil writes: "Yeah yeah yeah, we know that all you're bothered about is the release of the most hyped game in history, and chances are Cyberpunk 2077 will be a game that is found eating up the vast majority of your time going forward. But honestly, there are a host of other great titles already available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox 360, and thanks to the Xbox Deals With Gold and Spotlight Sale Discounts for 8th-14th December 2020, plenty of those titles are now available at heavily discounted prices."
PP: #Funtime is a decent little arcade shooter that's trying to step into the void left by Geometry Wars. It isn't filling those boots anytime soon, but it's still a decent effort. For fans of old-school arcade games, #Funtime will give you a #goodtime.
WTMG's Leo Faria: "Not exactly a terrible game, but far from being decent either, #Funtime is a game destined to linger in perpetual mediocrity. It has some good ideas, namely the color changing mechanics, but they are poorly explained and make little sense whatsoever. The visual and camera issues also drag the game down quite a lot. You may say that due to the lack of a proper Geometry Wars in this generation of consoles, this game might help scratching that itch. Honestly though, you’re better off playing the Bizarre Creations’ older titles through backwards compatibility instead."
