I hate this pointless didn't need a sequel narrative. Because the ending was so good it should never have a sequel? The ending of the godfather was brilliant and what did we get after that? the godfather part 2

. I guess people just didn't want a sequel because they wanted to create a fairy tale in their minds where Joel and Ellie live happily ever after in Jackson. Last of Us is not a fairy tale.

My God, this is beyond ridiculous. You can't have a proper discussion without being put words in your mouth or labeled, because God forbid someone didn't like this game for one of many valid reasons. I think RobinGaming and UpperEchelonGaming put it into words best, without being disrespectful to those that do like it.

The shortsightedness that people that don't agree with your "TLOU2 is the holy grail"-analogy is baffling. We get it, there must be something wrong, because no one who played the game can have a negative reaction about it...

Maybe tell that vocal minority of those that are being critical of the game for unjust reasons to shut up so the vast majority that have rational and well reasoned criticisms of the game can discuss it without being lumped in to that group?

It's unreasonable to expect those that like it to try and qualify who is responsibly criticizing the game based on unbiased viewpoints, and those who are just hateful trolls. A psychological exam and IQ test shouldn't be a requirement for discussing a video game.

So everyone that doesn’t agree with you is a bigot or anti this or that? That’s a very very negative way to look at the world. I get there are some people that fit into the categories you listed but you can’t assume everyone is like that.
I’ve heard plenty of people complain about how towards the middle of the game the story slows way down and there are more than a few sections that feel like they were just tacked on to bloat the length of the game. It’s ok for people just to have different tastes that don’t make them a homophobe

Also, I think a lot of the people who saw the leaks early and spent a month hating on it screwed up their own perception of the game and couldn't remain objective after the game launched.

It's good to see people who actually finished it starting to come to the online discussion and balance it all out a bit better. At the start it was nothing but hate.

Having finished it now it's equal parts funny and frustrating to deep dive into forum discussions on the game and seeing how many people either just hate it because of the start and then just put up a wall or blatantly missed or misinterpreted huge sections and points.

If someone finished game and genuinely both understood it and did not like it then fair call but as an example I saw a thread yesterday with hundreds of people agreeing based on the sole point that Abby wouldn't hold onto her vengeance for that many years and because of that is just a psychopath. wew lad

Just read some more comments about people complaining about gay characters and their hero dying by trans people (even though haven't encountered one after a 25h playthrough). And it's quite a lot and very annoying since there is no discussion with them that doesn't end in a mess.

Which makes it very unfair for some people to say that that has never been the reason why people are giving it a low rating while thousands of people only complain about those things. It might not be the reason for some but I do believe there are also people that factor it in without actually saying out loud. I also believe there are genuinely people dissatisfied with the direction and hoped for soemthing ese. That's fair.

Anyway. I enjoyed the game. I'm sure many do but do hope for a bit more optimistic game from ND next. Savage Starlight plz

Lev is a boy (referred to as brother) but the scars wanted to make him a wife for one of the elders. Since that was what he was supposed to become. (don't remember who made demanded that). He shaved his hair and got the whole society against him. Seems like he wanted to remain a boy because he was born that way.

I beat it and the only complaint I have is it was a bit long. Other than that I thought everything was excellent! The problem is people get so emotionally invested in characters that they can’t get over things.

I didn't think it was too long, I just felt the pacing of the early parts of each side of the story dragged on longer than it should have. Then, right at the climax of Ellie's first part of the story, it just kind of started at that same pacing issue. Day two of each side is where it got good, then you had a short section where it was slow again. Some of the flashbacks were also slow, particularly if they had no real playable sections.

All this was done for narrative purposes, which was fine really, but they could have shortened it a bit.

I don't think the reviewer should call his review "honest" as that should be assumed to be the case. But I have no problem with the score. The game and the story are amazing. Not everyone agrees with that, which is fine, but this is one game that has generated more discussion than any I can remember.

I've seen people like Colin Moriarty, who are good friends with Neil Druckmann say this game isnt 10/10... People need to stop simping with Naughty Dog at this point and admit this game could have been a lot better or at the very least, shorter or better paced. If this many people, industry insiders included, have something legitimate to complain about then it's not 10/10.

There are plenty of people, including "industry insiders", who gave this game a perfect 10 score. Does that negate the people who think it isn't 10/10? Nope. The last of us 2 was disappointed like red dead 2. Both games could’ve better. I like last of us 2. but killing joel in first half of the game was done quickly and poorly. Uninteresting supporting cast beside tommy. The ending was good. Some hate it because Abby should’ve died by Ellie hands. Still the game is my goty Btw

If joel would’ve died in middle or the end of the story. I would’ve not had a problem with the game. Joel was the most popular character in the series by far. Beside that, the last of us 2 is still my game of the year
