KeenGamer: "The hardest new type of Infected to fight in The Last Of Us Part 2 is definitely The Rat King. We've put this guide together to help you not only kill The Rat King, but master the fight and emerge a true professional Infected killer. This monster of an Infected is made up of at least four separate Infected humans, and while it's huge, it's also agile."

Such an awesome boss fight I was literally running away for like 10 minutes out of genuine fear lol

V3geta1755d ago

Unlike you I stood my ground like a real warrior...with a stick...and got killed. Maybe running away wasn't a bad idea lol.

lol i know this is the only reply but its the best reply.

Running was the best way to handle this boss. Just go from one side of the hospital floor to the other, throw some explosives, fire some incendiary rounds, and hope for the best. hardest part was the add, which you had to take out while running away.

Was a good boss though. But the level design for fighting him left a lot to be desired. better than every other boss fight in the game though....which basically amounted to dodge, punch, or cat and mouse stuff.

SPEAKxTHExTRUTH1755d ago

Flame rounds from your shotgun will do it. That and pipe bombs. I took this boss down without even realizing it was a boss fight. To easy

V3geta1755d ago

That's why I play stealth with the other enemies, as it leaves me with plenty of ammo and other goods when it's time to face something like this.

SPEAKxTHExTRUTH1755d ago

Yep exactly. I never even used my explosive arrows

@SPEAKxTHExTRUTH - What explosive arrows? 😆

Playing as Abby you get flame shot gun shells, flame thrower and pipe bombs.

ABizzel11755d ago

It depends on the difficulty. I had a full flamethrower, explosive shotgun shells, and pipe bombs and that thing still had plenty of health, and the annoying fast clicker was making it almost a nightmare to restock especially with the Rat King (awful name lol) running around breaking through walls.

But it finally went down.

HarryMasonHerpderp1755d ago

Increase the difficulty if it's too easy that's what I did. Had a much better time on hard mode

Lilrizky1754d ago

Exactly what I did. Piece of cake

rainslacker1754d ago (Edited 1754d ago )

He was easy when you figured out you could just run away from him going back and forth through the level. So long as you didn't get stuck in a corner or hallway and dodge the wrong way, you were good with bombs, incendiary rounds, and maybe a rifle shot or two. Shotgun was also pretty good as it staggered him on headshots.

The add from his body was a pain if you couldn't get it to run away fast enough. It was much quicker, and the environment was cumbersome to see what was going on. Flame thrower was effective here to hit both at once.

I might do a survival or grounded(if they ever offer it) play through one day, and I can't imagine this boss will be pleasant given the likely limited supplies and ammo you'll end up having at that point. I played mostly stealth in my normal and hard play throughs, so I was usually pretty well stocked through most of the game.

Easy, i had a full flamethrower and a few incendiary shotgun shells, there is a infested table in the room where you fight run in circle, it had no chance :)))

V3geta1755d ago

simple, shoot it, a lot, really a lot.

Gamist2dot01755d ago

Glad I completed the game. I'd be pissed if I saw this image because it's kind of a spoiler to me.
Anyway, remember that scene from Aliens when Ripley unleashed the flamethrower on the alien eggs? Yeah, I did that to this thing and it felt grreattt!

V3geta1755d ago

Seeing this would've completely killed the surprise. This is exactly why I rush story based games, as it takes no time for spoilers to start showing up everywhere.

HarryMasonHerpderp1755d ago

I thought the exact same thing, this was an awesome terrifying suprise in the game. I've had to warn my friend who's still not played it to stay away from N4G for a while.

rainslacker1754d ago

I didn't know about this boss when I first played it. Wasn't spoiled for me. Think the only reference I heard was about the infected having sex or something along those lines, but I skipped it when I read a few of those words.

Was pretty terrifying when he first shows up and you have to get away. Running from it had me hoping I didn't have to fight it, like it was a set piece. Overall a challenging fight when you first come to it, but once you know how to fight it, it's not really that hard so long as you're stocked well enough. Have no idea how you'd do it if you didn't have enough ammo or explosives, because they don't give you enough around the level to defeat it, and what they do give doesn't give you much time to craft anything useful.

jdoe1754d ago

this is exactly why I don't come here anymore. This website has gone to complete shit promoting click bait game spoiling garbage, it's pointless. If you want to keep up to date, anything important going on in the industry finds it's way immediately to neogaf or resetera.

HarryMasonHerpderp1754d ago

Yeah a lot of stuff is click bait now like you said. The whole site feels a bit cheap these days unfortunately. Sick of seeing those crappy pervy mods on pc of claire redfield for example.

The Last of Us™ Part II Remastered 2025 PC 4K (No DLSS) Incredible Forest Graphics

CG says: In this video, we take a look at the same forest section on horseback in The Last of Us™ Part II Remastered that we showcased in 2020 on the PS4 Pro. It’s an amazing bit of exposition with not much happening aside from a bit of banter. However, taking it slowly rather than galloping past, the forest graphics are actually pretty detailed. One of the more beautiful moments from the game. PS4 Pro version holds-up pretty well (that output was upscaled 4K and back then, there was no DLSS or AI interventions that we know about).
